RE: Coronavirus - is enough being done to contain it?
So with the latest dispute/disagreement over the administering of the vaccine - first to second dose - and the time lag between the two, where do you stand?? (with apologies if covered in earlier posts) For me, it is simple and obvious : with the company that developed the vaccine in question saying categorically that it should be given and received three weeks apart, and with the doctors bodies saying the same, further, stating that their is NO evidence to suggest any benefit ion waiting the extra 3 months proposed by the govt, it is clear to me.
At what point is this govt going to be willing to listen to the scientific/medical experts (still a dirty word apparently post brexit) and simply do as they advise?? Any govt/person that diverges from the opinion of those that develop vaccines and those that medically administer them, must take the consequences if more fatalities result. If they make decisions - not with the benefit of hindsight - but with clear evidence in front of them, that does diverge from the 'best practice' advice and instruction of such experts, then someone should see them in court as a govt, in the same way an individual would be - facing manslaughter charges for each and every death attributable directly to their decision.

As I understand it, it was the scientific experts who advised this. The same ones we were lauding a couple of days ago for approving the vaccines for use.

And what if more deaths occur by giving the two doses close together, but covering half as many people?
Let's be honest, I doubt any of us have the expertise to know whether this is the right thing to do. It does make me very apprehensive that the manufacturers won't back this course of action. But, on the other hand, they will want to have their arses well covered if there was even a small chance of it all going tits up.
