Here i will post my reviews and thoughts about random wrestling i watch some new and some old

First will be the latest episode of aew which i will post in the morning

Incase your wondering why Goatman is now called The Goatman it's because i knighted him like the Queen does.

Aew Dynamite 13/01/21

The show opens with pac vs eddie kingston
A decent tv match pac looked a million bucks, kingston looked like he should be delivering pizza.... both seem to be heels which is odd
Pac wins with the black arrow

Post match archer and a badly dressed jake roberts comes out to confront pac for some reason

Next up

Miro vs chuck taylor
Miro sold way to much in this match, chuck taylor shouldn't be on tv like a lot of guys in this company
Miro wins with his camel clutch

Inner circle promo next
Not a great segment its just to build up to a 3 way tag between them, looked stupid the way they was all lined up talking

Next

Omega and the good brothers vs some random jobbers
Match went far to long
Omega and the good brothers win

Post match jon moxley penta and fenix comes out and brawls with the heels then the young bucks come out to break things up for some reason but then are attack by fenix and penta... who are the heels and who are the babyfaces

Next was the waiting room segment
Terrible is the best word to discribe it

Good match a little long again but best thing on the show so far

Up next nwa womans championship match
Serena deeb vs tay conti
One of the best womens matches that has been on dynamite, tay conti and anna jay should be on tv every week they look great
Deeb wins with a nice finisher

Main event time
Tnt title match darby allin vs brian cage
Not a very believable match tbh darby took a beating the whole match and then wins with a cruifix bomb... sting came out and hit ricky with a bat then looked at darby again 4th week in a row i think he must fancy him

Overall a bit of a mess of a show

agree it was pac's best outing since coming back, but Eddie looked great he is the best Heel in aew hes so hated that anyone he faces becomes a face for the match, hes making a lot of people at the moment , i fully expect him to get a belt this year,

i disagree i think Miro selled it right for someone who is up above him in the rankings , plus from a story point of view its the right thing to see Chuck get his revenge at the wedding after Miro treats him bad for a few weeks,

agree was a great Inner circle promo - seeing MJF slowly taking over is great, cant wait to see Sammy splt off and go baby face,

i thought the match had to go long as it was selling Omega and the good brothers impact PPV match, they are not ramdom jobbers though i would fully expect to see them near the belts for 2022 the pullman name will get them there, re who is heel and face on the post match, the bucks are face as they have said over a number of weeks , fenix and penta are cool heels so that lets them act face when needed or full on heel like lastnight, not seen a cool heel on a tv show in ages,

totally agree about the waiting room it should have stayed on dark,

agree about the tag match best mans match of the night,

deeb vs tay conti match of the night, Deeb showed why shes regarded as the best womans wrestler in the world, she dragged a great match out of Tay, what i would say though mate is she cant be on tv every week as shes to green if not with a top worker to do the work for her he can look bad,

i liked the main event , it was classic old school booking , the underdog baby face takes a hell of a beating form the nasty heel then makes the hero comback for the win, its the essence of wrestling , matches like that have made a lot of stars over the years, Allin in the new Bret Hart as thats just how he was booked with big heels,

the sting stuff i find so exciting i am loving how slow they are taking it, cant wait to see him team with Allin, so many interesting things they could do,

Miro should not be selling against somebody who looks like that no matter of silly rankings i could beat up chuck taylor lol

And they were jobbers in that match with omega come on man look at them lol 3 tiny indy guys nobody has ever heard of.

When i said anna jay and tay need to be on tv every week i didn't mean in matches not everything is about matches they just need to be on tv, because if somebody who isnt a hardcore wrestling fan which is what the 700k aew viewers are see's them 2 when changing the channels they will stop and check the show out and maybe gain new viewers

Did you really compare darby allin to bret hart ? Bret hart was 6ft2 and 240lbs darby allin is 5ft7 and 150lbs bret hart's style was about weakening his opponent by working a body part throughout the match to the point where the bigger man wouldnt be able to hit his move and bret would capitalize... he wouldnt just get thrown around for 10 minutes then hit one move and win, don't get me wrong i like darby allin i think he is good but if a non fan turned on the tv and saw a tiny guy against somebody twice the size of him who looks like brian cage they will just laugh and change the channel, brian cage should never have lost in his aew career but they messed that up in 2 week.
Aew will never be able to attract more viewers with stuff like this, they had a nice 200k viewer increase for sting and lost them all in 1 week
Its nice to cater to the internet fans who chant shit like fight forever and this is awesome and who love anything with filps and dives and matches where everyone kicks out of every move but not only is it killing the wrestling business but its killing their own company its a good thing tony khan is rich because i can bet you aew is losing money

I just want wrestling to be good again and in the 25 years ive watched it its never been so hard to watch

WWE Smackdown 15/01/21
Show starts with a backstage segment with paul heyman and roman talking about adding a
stipulation to his match with adam pearce at the rumble, okay segment to open the show

First up shinsuke nakamura vs jey uso
Good tv match shin had his old theme which i assume confirms his babyface turn cesaro was on commentary and was sounding very heelish so im expect naka vs cesaro at some point
Shin wins with the Kinshasa.

We go backstage again for another segment with heyman...

Then a backstage promo with the street profits which was okay montez ford shows so much potential

Next natalya vs liv morgan
Liv morgan has improved loads over the past few months this match was okay seemed like a training match to me
Natalya wins with a roll up

Next match rey mysterio vs king corbin
Corbin need to drop the king gimmick now its been like 2 years, decent match
Corbin wins after an accidental distaction from dominik and the end of days

4th backstage heyman segment of the night... jesus!

Back in the ring ding dong hello with bayley... dear god

A pre tape with chad gable training otis for the rumble... okay who is writing this shit ?

Next daniel bryan vs cesaro
Good match as you would expect with these two, i think this is the sign bryan will be facing the nxt champ at mania as bryan lost again
Cesaro wins with the Neutralizer

Another backstage segment this time with carmella and sasha back they should rename this "smackdown In the back"

Next apollo crews vs sami zayn
A meh match not much to see here
Apollo wins with a roll up holding the ropes

We go to the back for the 200th time to see adam pearce walking...

The show ends with a long drawn out predictable segment that didn't make any sense really, adam pearce reveals that kevin owens will replace him at the rumble even though reigns beat him last month... no mention of nakamura who basically won the number one contenders match last week but wwe logic

Overall the wrestling was really good best of the week but everything else sucked hairy ass

you got to look at the long game with Miro having him win a hard match against a very over wrestler with the AEW fans will do a lot for for him and a squash match, once the wedding is out the way there is talk he will head towards the TNT belt matches like this send him on the way as credible its proper old school booking what has always worked will always work,

dude you cant call brian pillman son a jobber lol once you got a name in wrestling you will always be treated better than that , they are just a young team that we will not see the best of for a couple of years being in a match like that will only boost them up,

i do agree that they look good but now they are both in the dark order should see them on tv more, they are also on dark most weeks so being used , i think aew see them as more than eye candy and want to see them working i think by 2nd half of year will see a lot more of them, if as rumoured the women will get a tag belt later this year could see them having that,

yes i did Bret him self calls himself the little guy )wrestlers where bigger in his day) who could sell a beating and make the hero late comback, its exactly how Allin is booked plus you got to remember that aew have spent a year telling the aew fans how Allin feels no pain and cant be beat down its his gimmick, the fans get it,

i agree with you i want to see the best wrestling and aew is growing they have beat nxt every week this year, they did 762000 viewers this week they have been on 3/4 of a million since sting came in so they have kept a lot of the new viewers, once the american football is over and they can get back to a regular slot each week i think that will help,

to me at the moment it feels like they are trying out a lot of new stuff in the next few weeks we should see them start to run with whats walking, i hear we could be getting a tipple tag team bent this summer something to look forward to also they are doing so well they how have a deal for 3 hours tv a week with tnt be intersting to see if they make the show longer or put dark on tv

Im sorry but 75% of this roster should not be on tv chuck taylor looks terrible and is a bad wrestler at least trent barretta has a bit of talent and is in shape how you think he is over is beyond me over with who ? Otherthan internet fans who think this is the greatest era in wrestling

Brian pillman was a midcarder his whole career so his son with a bad mullet is a jobber its like saying i can't call david flair a jobber

You can't compare one of the greatest wrestlers ever to darby allin i think a better comparsion for darby is jeff hardy also another thing about darby whys he wearing hot pants with womens tights underneath ? And then beating a hulking monster it just look ridiculous to me and to a lot of others

You said a key thing in your last post that "wrestlers are smaller now" have you noticed the smaller the wrestlers get the lower the ratings are ? Most people do not tune into wrestling and expect to see someone who could be serving them fries at a mcdonalds they tune in to see larger than life characters who look like they would fuck people up.

And if you look at the ratings for aew since they began 15 months ago their average rating is 730k viewers, they lost 700k viewers from their debut show and if you go year by year they have lost viewers, beating wwe's developmental brand is which has zero star power on it isnt really a win... what they are doing isnt working

And as for the women getting tag titles lol they should try training some of them first the best womens wrestler they have is on loan from nwa

If this company want to be a success they need to get rid of a lot of people and focus on pushing guys who have some talent most of these "wrestlers" can't throw a fake punch they need to stop the stupid ranking thing thats the dumbest thing ever this isnt a sport because if it was darby allin would not be beating brian cage in a real fight... so they need to make up their mind are they gonna continue to cater towards the iwc or try and get new people to watch.

^^ you need to have a look at some of the matches Chuck has had in Japan mate, he is very talented and can hang with anyone, the guy still moves great in the ring,

Clearly you don't remember how over Brian was in wcw , he could have been a main eventer but politics from hogan forced him out and then Vince never got his gimmick, he was probably 10 years ahead of his time he would have been huge in the attitude era if starting then,

Jeff is a great companion to Allin mate people love seeing the small guy beat the big guy it's been the staple of wrestling for as long as there been wrestling,

I don't think size has anything to do with it it's that of these days don't know how to draw money, Flar was not a big guy but he could sell out anywhere as he had a connection with the fans, that's why Allin is being pushed as based on his murch sales it's clear he's drawing money to aew,

They not lost 700000 mate they have never done over a million TV viewing, the sting show was there first 900000 show, this time last year they where in the 500000-600000 viewing range so they are progressing nicely,

I totally agree they need better woman but they need to actually give them time each week and good stories,

I am interested to see who you think should get a push and who should get let go mate,

Aews debut show got 1.4 million viewers so from their debut to now they have lost 700k viewers... and on the 15th jan 2020 aew had 940k viewers and last episode on 13th jan 2021 got 762k viewers so thats a year to year loss of
178k viewers so they are not progressing they are declining here is a link to the numbers

I remember wcw very well i watched every episode of nitro and thunder before they moved to bravo in the uk, brian pillman was a bland boring wrestler for most of his career he was a curtian jerker only time he was even a little be over was in the hollywood blondes with austin then he did the loose cannon character which eric bischoff didnt like and fired him then he went to wwf in 96 and cut one of the best promos ever imo at king of the ring, he was used a lot better in wwf but he was never more than a midcarder.

Ric flair was never that big of a draw at his peak in the 80s nwa were running small arenas and most of the time they wasn't even sold out he was never the draw hogan, Sammartino or even goldberg was... but what flair had was an incredibly entertaining character which he played so well it over took the real man lol nobody in aew has anything near that kind of charisma.

And i agree the little guy beating the big guy is a great story but only when done believably which it wasn't last week

And ive seen enough of chuck taylor to know i dont want to see him on my tv anymore lol
