Aew Dynamite 10/2/21

match 1 Darby Allin vs. Joey Janela (TNT Championship)
this was a really good match and a great way to get Joey back on tv with the title match he earned last year before his injury, i like how aew always remembers its ranking and who is due a shot at the belt even if they have been out for a bit,
i would say this was Joey best match in AEW he showed some of the mat work that made him a star in the indies,
Darby really helped him hes becoming so good at controlling a match, reminded me of some of the great matches they had in Canada 4-5 years ago, they have always worked well together,
only thing stopping it not getting a higher rating was big moves not being sold enough a code red from the top rope and a piledriver are moves people use as finishers,
7 out of 10

great back stage segment between MJF and sammy , MJF being the perfect heel screwing sammy over by tricking him into hitting him,

match 2 Cody and Lee Johnson vs. Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi-
not such a good match as it was far to fast paced that meant there was zero selling,
but there where pluses Lee looked good hit some nice moves nice he won at last after 29 loses in a row, he will be a good x division type wrestler,
and was good to see Peter show the first member of his pretty people faction i could see them becoming the main heels on dark soon,
5 out of 10

back stage was sad seeing Paige again making the wrong choice and not join the dark order is journy to the bottom is not over yet, i am so looking forward to his come back,

match 3 Pac vs. Ryan Nemeth
this match was designed solely to make Pac look dangerous and it did that well, was impressed with Ryan selling, look forward to seeing if he gets some wins on dark,
6 out of 10

was cool back stage seeing young bucks and good brothers teasing a proper gun club reunion and it sold the impact PPV well,

match 4 The Acclaimed vs. MJF and Chris Jericho
this was a much better match it was slower paced and both teams sold moves well, you can see why AEW has a lot of hope for the Acclaimed,
MJF and Jericho where great old school heels using the classic heel cheats anyone who watched wrestling in the 80's or earlier would have got and we dont really see much these days,
after the match Sammy finally left the inner circle its been well built up over a couple of months as sammy has got more and more babyface , it was intresteing seeing him say he needed time away for aew, they is a rumour on line hes going to impact for a bit, we will see i guess,

in the bar big money Matt tricked a drunk Paige into signing him as manager, i think thats rock bottom for paige as matt will make him be a heel which he dont want to be so can see them having a match and paige journy to the belt beginning,

match 5 Leyla Hirsch vs. Thunder Rosa
this was the best match of the night, i loved all the technical mat work so good to see on tv, they had a great chemistry with there styles matching well, Leyla gets better with each match she has, as was interesting seeing Rosa say she was going after the AEW and NWA belts looks like AEW has big plans for her this year,

back stage i liked Jungle boy interview hes looking and sounding more like a main eventer every day,

main event KENTA and Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley and Lance Archer (Falls Count Anywhere)
before the match we saw why Kenny thinks hes the best golfer on earth as like everything else he never loses was funny seeing Don behind back,
Kenta came out with the IWGP U.S title shot briefcase this was so good to see as its an example to wwe in how to do this angle, most of last year Kenta has deafened the briefcase like its a belt against some of the biggest names in the best matches totally legitimising it and becoming like a champ with out a belt,
Mox came out with the IWGP US belt and looked cool its one of the best looking belts around i think,
Archer had his best ever match in USA he looked the unstoppable main eventer he was in japan seeing him do his feels no pain gimmick was so cool,
Kenta looked amazing and showed the US fans who had only ever seen him in wwe how good he is and a legit main eventer,
now thats the good stuff but there where some bad stuff as well
first the match was to long they ended up doing stuff to fill time that had no bearing on anything,
it was over booked for a first match between them the booked it as a PPV but this dont leave them anywhere to go in the future as we saw it all in this match,
the section in the kitchen added nothing and killed the flow of the match as it took ages to get back to the ring,
and it was booked as to separate matches the NJPR and AEW men didn't have a lot to do with each other, even the ending was to separate wins for the heels
so only a 7 out of 10

i saw it a bit different at times to the Goat as i think i knew a bit more of the back stories from dark and NJPW so got some of the angles a bit better but i dont know if thats a good thing because Goat is the wwe fan AEW need to win over so if he dont get some stuff then that worry me that lots other people watching will not have got it,
i think maybe they need to show video packages of whats going on in dark and on NJPR so people can understand whats happening in the matches and why,
this is why i like Goat reviews as it shows me things from a different point

That backstage segment mjf and sammy was boarderline retarded mjf recording sammy talk so he cold take it to jericho made little sense as there was a camera crew there... so logically if mjf did show sammys out of context recording to jericho wouldn't jericho just watch the show back and see it was bullshit...?

Winsaw i appreciate your reviews and thoughts but you must have a really low bar on quailty, 8/10 for that womens match seriously ? I mean if you liked it cool but 8/10...

Im not a wwe fan, wrestling is all shit right now... i watch more aew than wwe as its on itv4, the only wwe i watch is the big ppvs and all the old stuff on the network i have seen pretty much every episode of dynamite... and if ive missed things its probably because it didnt interest me or it wasnt followed up like where was shaq this week ? Thought they was building to a pointless match with him and cody ? How putting cody in a ring with a bunch of chumps one of which injured him building that shaq feud up ?

7 out of 10 i call average, that was a better match than average so it got a 8,
i am sure Layla will get a push soon , not sure she needs to do the moonsalt though as it dont fit with her amateur gimmick

you miss the point on what MJF was doing Sammy told him if he did one more heel thing to him that was it, the recording was the straw that broke the camel's back , MJF was never going to use it was just him pushing Sammy again and it worked this time,

didn't you see the look on QT Marshall face after Lee forgot to name check him after the match when he was listing the people who have trained him, this i would say is setting something up after the Shaq match which was the point of the match, you know AEW like to do angles slow

WWE Elimination Chamber 2021

SD Elimination Chamber Match Cesaro vs Owens vs Zayn vs Bryan vs Corbin vs Uso:
First off i can't even begin to tell you how much i hate hearing them talk to eachother during entrances and matches But that aside a decent opener but tbh these matches just blend into eachother now seen it all before...
Cesaro was highlighted a lot during the match but i assume that his little push will be over by the next SD

Bryan wins

WWE Universal Title match Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan:
Didn't see the point of this really.

Edge attacked roman after the match and pointed to the WM sign so you know what that means

WWE US Title Match Lashley vs Riddle vs Morrison:
Morrison won a 4 way on the pre show to replace lee, lashley killed everyone for the most part then morrison and riddle did some awkward spots then jomo and mvp had a audible exchange outside which got a crutch involved...

Backstage promo with belair and banks who was all very smiley and fake looking

WWE Womens Tag Title Match Jax & Baszler vs Banks & Belair:
B&B came out dancing to the ring and looked like fucking idiots... jesus christ i almost turned off at this point, match was okay the finish was flat as fuck

WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match Mclntyre vs Sheamus vs Styles vs Hardy vs Kingston vs Orton:
The better of the 2 chamber matches but again seen it all before... sheamus looked good during the match but it came down to aj and drew 3 seconds later it was over

After the match lashley attacks drew does some stuff and leaves, out comes the miz and its cash in time

WWE Championship Match Drew Mclntyre vs The Miz:
I really thought miz was gonna run into to a claymore kick straight away But no....

Overall
It was a show that really showed how much wwe need new stars
The slow build up of lashley has been okay i assume he will beat the miz then face drew at mania but seriously they are building up a 45 year old man for a main event run
