Pubs are being allowed to stop open till 11:15pm on Sunday. It may be needed if the final goes into extra time and penalties.

I'm routing for Italy tonight, hopefully losing Spinazzola won't affect them too badly, in fact I'd love to see an Italy vs Denmark final

I've always sort of routed for Italy (on/off), as I was a fan of watching Italian football as a teen, Vialli, Baggio, Del Piero etc.

Funnily enough likewise I loved watching Italian football on Sunday afternoons on C4. If England were not involved I’d be rooting for them as well.

At the risk of ageing myself too much, the first World Cup I remember watching was 1982, with Paolo Rossi’s heroics.

For the rest of the 1980s until about the mid-1990s Serie A was the best league in the world.

Then I only started supporting Chelsea because they had Vialli, Zola and di Matteo.

And I’ve gotta say … being a part-time Italy supporter takes the edge off being a full-time England supporter. It’s never more than 10-15 ‘years of hurt’ in that song.

An Italy-England final would be a dream for me … can’t lose.
