Coronavirus - is enough being done to contain it?

Where I work, we hit the covid protocols hard in the beginning, I laid out a one-way system round the site, marked out socially distanced zones in the smoking area and canteen, most office staff worked from home, we have thermometers to do staff and visitor temperature checks etc. All good stuff, and our site was an example to the rest of the company.

Just lately it seems to have gone to pot. Had a colleague the other week who was in contact with a positive case, so took a test and waited for the result. He was told to come into work still. Came in at 6am, got his test result through at 9am, positive, got sent home and we had to tape off his work area. Why did they let him come in before the result came through, crazy!
Now we are heading into monday, opening up day. I have been told, 'unofficially', we must still wear masks come monday, and presumably, the other covid protocols remain as well, but there has been no communication whatsoever, so people will turn up monday morning clueless as to whats going on, expecting everything to be back to normal, only to find it isn't, and management just 'forgot' to tell us.

We were originally a flagship for the company, now we are beyond incompetent, if this is reflective of the rest of the country, no wonder cases are rising rapidly, and heaven help us after next week!

Another sign that Big Brother should no longer exist, the bookers are fucking idiots, Hopkins is nothing but toxic.
I'll never understand the thinking behind giving her any sort of platform, she's not smart or funny, just scum.

All those Tory donors with houses in France must be pissed off right now. France has been given a new designation between Amber & Red meaning you still have to quarantine from Monday when you come back. Seems it’s because 10% of their new cases are of the South African variant. They would have been red but that it seems is politically unacceptable because of all the food we import via France. 500,000 Brits are thought to have been planning to go to France. Of course they have far fewer cases than us but data not dates is not a phrase Boris uses anymore.

Fucking hypocrites --- after all the public money they chucked at it in the beginning.... Matt Hancockup now has a lot to answer for crowing about this app being world beating...

^ They are taking part in a pilot (the same one Gove did) which requires daily testing but not isolation. This pilot scheme on the Government website says participants are selected at random. Funny how random now means if you are Boris & Rishi you can avoid the legal requirement to isolate.

This is “levelling up” to Boris as it reaffirms he is superior to everyone else.
