RE: Coronavirus - is enough being done to contain it?
^^ Spot on fella. I've said it before but, recycling posts has served Rammy well, so if it's good enough for him. Anyway, it's worth reminding some, that during the last Global Pandemic (Spanish Flu) vaccines were not available, & widely the drugs of the time were largely ineffective.
But what did work, were lockdowns, isolating the infected, reducing social contact, & yes mask wearing.
Also the cause of the Global spread, was through the primary form of transport of the day, ships, much in the same way as air-travel has imported the virus, only much quicker.. So if prompt action is made then closing borders also works.

By that logic, vaccination is pointless because it's not 100% effective...
Not at all I think everyone should get the jab as it has a very high % of perfecting people much higher than a mask and is by far and away the best way to slow the virus down and keep people from passing until natural immunity is higher in everyone and the virus hopefully follows the path of 99% of other virus and because far less deadly , even then it would still I think it be sensible to keep vacation levels high as this should keep a normal world something that if everyone has there face covered it isn't,
I am double jabbed and glad I did it, waiting to get my booster told they can't book me in till 5th January so much for getting everyone done by the end of the year,

(15-12-2021 22:12 )Whynot Wrote: I think it’s time to treat vaccinated people like the adults in the room! I want to know how many unvaccinated are getting sick? The percentage of unvaccinated in hospitals!
If the majority of sickest people are unvaccinated and unvaccinated not for any medical reason then fuck them! Give more freedom to vaccinated people and let the unvaccinated rot in their houses! If they can’t see the vaccine is safe and not part of a conspiracy by now then once again, fuck them!
Buried 3 family members since this began, they talk about rights, where is my right to not have to put up with their bullshit and rule breaking!
Really sorry to here that, I've lost 2 family members, & both were vaccinated. There's no doubt in my mind that many of the unvaccinated are playing their part in killing other older & less healthy people. Yes many of the covid related deaths would've occurred without this virus, but life is precious, especially in later years, some are being robbed of time by selfish people. I class these as covert murderers, extreme maybe, but that's how I feel.
You make a great point, are the government are missing a trick here to back-up the need for vaccinations with statistics showing the difference in hospitalizations & deaths, by age, of the unvaccinated, against the vaccinated. Or are most of the younger unvaccinated cheating death, & just playing their part in killing others.
