I can understand him being so fed up he has left. His party leader has no honor, integrity or moral compass. Johnson keeps saying he tales full responsibility for partygate but clearly that is not the case as he is doing everything he can to blame those around him and deny anything is his fault.

There was a time when a minister would resign if their department got something badly wrong. They would resign if their was a misjudgement in their personal life. Johnson has believed all his life that rules don't apply to him and is unfit to be a government tea boy never mind Prime Minister

Previous defections have been on point of principal or policy differences.

A few weeks ago he was "Scum" according to Starmer's Deputy, but now he's welcomed with open arms. Yet more evidence that they're all rotten to the core no matter which colour rosette they wear.

The Momentum crowd are outraged at Starmer welcoming him into the party as increasing the number of Labour MPs is the exact opposite of everything Jeremy Corbyn stood for. There is definitely self preservation involved in this, Wakeford won his seat in 2019 with a 0.8% margin, no way he was holding onto it. It's good for Labour though, they cannot win power with convincing soft Tories & swing voters to vote for them, this defection and anymore will send a message to the apolitical silent majority that Labour is a party for them.

In terms of getting rid of Boris the Tories are kind of between a rock & a hard place, I was reading from journalists that are in contact with MPs that they have been told off the record that it's a matter of when not if for Johnson. The problem is if they get rid now and replace him, there are still difficult months ahead for any PM with the rise of the cost of living, energy crisis & an upcoming budget that may be all doom and gloom would be an unwanted baptism of fire. Might as well let the dead man walking take all the heat. On the other hand if they keep onto him for a few more months he might become so toxic especially with all these major problems looming that he will irreparably damage the party in the voters eyes.

The MP who crossed the floor today to join the Labour Party is reportedly the same MP who called Owen Paterson a cunt to his face. He seems to be quite an astute judge of character

No restrictions soon, he might as well go out killing more people. When people study this period of time in the future they will laugh at how this country believed and voted for such a blatant, shameless liar and conman!

I would say trhere wasn't much choice at the time of the election...

If I had a quid for every time I heard Boris or one of his toadies say wait for the result of Sue Grey's report I may not be a millionaire but I would have made at least £100

Wakeford knew full well what he was buying into with Boris. Either that or he's blind and deaf.

He's as dodgy as the rest of them. He refused to resign as a councillor when he was elected MP and continued claiming allowance for 3 council jobs until they eventually were able to boot him out for not attending meetings.

The bigger problem is, if they force a vote of no confidence and he manages to survive it, they can't touch him again for a whole year.
