He broke the rules that he set himself! Gutless cowards the lot of them to defend him and gag themselves from conceding the bleedingly obvious fact that the Clown Prince broke his own rules that he was Commander and Chief over. Him saying that "no one told him the said party in the garden on 20 May 2020 wasn't a work do" is laughable and can only really be a face-saving response that is postponing the inevitable potential damning appraisal of Sue Grey.

This playing for time by Boris is (to quote a Blackadder sketch) like a murder trial where the accused was caught with the murder weapon in his blood soaked hands, & was heard saying "I murdered the bastard", yet is pleading Not-Guilty, awaiting the judgement by the judge*
[* - that's where the analogy ends, since Sue Grey's report is only 'advice' - up to the MPs to take up the baton after her report, which I wouldn't put it past a lot of Tories to whitewash the whole affair]

I just get the feeling she's not going to be able to prove that bojo knew what was going on and that's all he needs to serve really,

Boris says he's seen no evidence of bullying and blackmail.

Well, considering he saw no evidence of a party when he was standing in the middle of it...

All hinges on what she takes from what Dominic Cummings' reveals, and maybe others. Johnson has claimed no one warned him that the 'gathering' on 20/5/20 might be considered a party. Cummings said he did. But more than anything else, it's absurd that Johnson hides behind the excuse that no one advised him. He's the one who's signed off the rules!

I'm no fan of the blonde ape, but the most serious of many serious problems is when he goes, who do we get in his place? Will it be Preeti Useless? The PR agent that's never had a real job in her life. Or "slithering" Sunak? The ex investment banker, risen without trace, arranged married to the daughter of an Indian billionaire. Or will it be the jingoistic Ms Truss? Who seems to be taking a lot of tax payer funded "fact finding" missions now she's been "promoted" to Foreign secretary. And don't forget Gove, who does seem to be able to "get things done" but whom many even in his own party regard as an "out & out fascist". What's it to be? On the other side there's always Dame Kieth ..... We're screwed.

^We're screwed because no other party can break Labour or the Conservative party's stranglehold on the system. The next election will probably the best opportunity to have a hung parliament and force ALL parties to work as one coalition Government, working TOGETHER for the good of the country, sharing ideas and policies. This is the only way forward if we are to meet head on and tackle the serious issues that are facing us. Even IF it means we have to have a referendum for every policy brought forward at least WE would have a REAL SAY in the parliamentary process for once and it is not left solely to those who sit in parliament to have the final say. WE HAVE TO HAVE THE FINAL SAY.
can someone explain to mew how he can describe a party as a "work event" when it actually WAS a party? not to mention he didn't bring his own booze either...Tongue

She once faced down an IRA gunman, so she's not going to be intimidated by Boris.

Bad as things are, that would be a totally unworkable nightmare.

Where were you in 2016 for the last referendum? What a bloody mess that turned out to be. Tell me do you vote every General & Local election? If so then you get your chance then. If not then maybe keep quiet until you do

Reports are saying No10 cops have given ‘extremely damning’ evidence to Sue Gray about the parties.
