According to Joe Twyman from Deltapoll, there are 291 Conservative MPs in less safe seats than Tiverton & Honiton.

In addition a Yougov poll published last week has the Tories losing 85 of 88 Con-Lab battleground seats. Seats that they either won from Labour in 2019 or held but with a margin of 15pts or less.

Whilst there is some way to go & polls aren't always right, its worth noting that the last two elections the results have tended to mirror the leaders personal ratings more than the party vote. It looked like May was going to win a sizeable majority even after the "dementia tax" scandal but her approval ratings were terrible & in 2017 Corbyn was still largely an unknown entity with the silent majority of voters

In 2019 it looked, in the last week or so that Labour were closing the gap only for there to be a total wipeout as Corbyn had gone from unknown quantity to the leader with the worst approval ratings in modern history.

The PM's approval ratings are dismal, Starmer's aren't great but neither were Johnson's in 2019 they were just better than Corbyn's rock bottom, the reality is he's never been that popular. The idea of Boris as a popular figure was a mirage, orchestrated by those in the right wing press that perpetuated his Boris will be Boris persona and backed up by the Conservative base & his being the lesser of two evils

So yes the polls are not always right but that could end up working against Johnson more than it helping him

If we vote we should aleways vote for a coalition Goverment and never again give one party a majority in power in HOC, that way we force the MP's on all sides of the House to work TOGETHER for the good of the country and policies shouild be shared and adopted where appropriate.

I would say after the Boris Government it will be a long toime before the Conservative could be trusted to rule this land and even if they have a credible leader that is honestto trust pepiole will still not forget how this Government acted when sacrifices were made during the pandemic yet the Government could not care less about the rules it made and we followed them to the letter.

It's taken Blair almost 20 years to admit that invading Iraq might have been a bit silly so Johnson has time to play with.

The only remotely palatable options I could suggest would be maybe Tobias Ellwood or Penny Mordaunt. But not with any real enthusiasm or conviction.
And Ellwood would stand no chance anyway.
Then again there aren't really many palatable options amongst any of the parties so it's a bit shit really .

The fear is we end up with Hunt or Gove or Patel

In that same interview on Sky News, Nadine said tories need to united behind Boris as people won't vote for a divided party

You have to admire Nadine's wholehearted support of Boris.
Until you understand that if Boris goes then she's back on the benches along with Posh Jacob, Priti Patel and Raaaab.

A new PM will want a fresh start without Boris's baggage

^I doubt there would be any fresh start I expect some wil still keep their jobs

Why did Boris want Mad Nad in the cabinet,was it to make him look good or her foolhardy loyalty,Boris would drop her like a brick to save his own skin.Mad Nad does not realise this so she keeps on defending him but truth will eventually catch up with both of them.
