2022 TT RACES

RIP Roger and Bradley Stockton!! Brings the fatality number to 5 this year. No getting away from it, a really dreadful stat! But NO BAN!!!! particularly when it comes to calls from the usual suspects who neither follow nor understand on any level.

No room for the SENIOR TT yesterday, so will start 10am today! Shoot out to see who finishes top of the winners tally board between Hicky and Dunlop!

Peter Hickman makes it four from 6 with first in the senior TT - the blue riband race. What a week for him.

Time for another visit to the most challenging course in road racing! Should be a quality event once again, and the weather - at least for practice and qualis - is set fair, hopefully the fortnight will get lucky and have good dry conditions throughout! Safe journey to all, with no controversy as at the North West, which has undoubtedly done harm to its reputation (right or wrong) after the issues with the FHO Racing team!

Sad though - but not surprised - that the first (and probably only with no sports reports about the actual racing and results) visit to this years event by the media (notably Sky News <---- NO!!) in terms of reporting, was once again the judgmental debate around whether the event should be banned! Asked and answered many times.....lets get on with the show!

The racing gets under way with the Dunlop dynasty continuing to add to the legend. Michael Dunlop winning the Supersport race from Peter Hickman and Dean Harrison.

In the first Sidecar race, more legends of the Isle of Man bossing the race in the Birchall Brothers, including a new lap record!

With the conditions perfect, records will tumble as the week goes on I would think!

Two for Two for Michael Dunlop in the Superbike Race 1 (actually came before the other race listed) The other two podium places were as the Supersport race, With Hicky and Harrison

23 wins now for 'The Nephew' who is now 3 away!!

Two more -Supersport 2 and Supertwins 1, # 24 and 25 For Dunlop! and now 1 more to gain some sort of immortality in his own right, and fitting I think that it is Michael himself (no disrespect Hicky - genuinely) that will tie it up with his Legendary Uncle! congrats too go to P Hickman and D Harrison, and M Brown and J Cowan who shared the podium with Michael in the two races

Sadly, I have to add condolences to the family and friends of Spanish rider Raul Torras Martinez, who was killed riding in the Supertwin Race!! A tragedy yes, but he lost his life pursuing his dream in the fullest sense!

A week of racing ended with Michael Dunlop still one short of Joey on 25 wins. Peter Hickman closed out the week with victories in Superstock and the big one - the TT Senior Suberbike race, breaking the lap record in both!

Overall, Hickman and Dunlop cleaned up, sharing all the solo wins between them, finishing on 4 a piece! A fitting tie for the two stand- out riders, pushing each other to the limit!
