Last Week Tonight w/John Oliver
A short bit on the Sunak-Truss debacle, then a long bit about mental health care and how its inadequate current provision needs urgent improvement.

6 - Three blokes take a nude lady to a picnic, and presto Manet is a genius. With a dirty old man, it seems.

7 - Caravaggio's "Boy Bitten by a Lizard", again a work I've never heard of. Like many others in the series, there's elements of self portrait in the subject.
I am somewhat familiar with this work! It is - like so much of this great artists paintings, of the highest skill and quality! Having said that, I wonder if you were to take a random sample of the worlds artists (particularly the grand masters) and their paintings, aside from Leonardo and Van Gogh (or maybe Rembrandt) on the one hand, and the Mona Lisa among the paintings named, how many would name Caravaggio and/or any of his works. In my Top 10 for certain.

Neighbours - the last episode
Quite sad, but well done continuity stuff.

8 - last one looked at an anatomical painting by Rembrandt in which a doctor and a corpse are both from Rembrandt's hometown and then lived (and in one case, had died) in his new town of Amsterdam.

Overall, an intriguing series but as it seemed to be around 20 years old, I don't hold out much hope for him doing any more.

Lily Cole's Art Matters
1 - another old series (10 years, this time), in which a dipstick pretty face spends each week with a different talented person. This first one was Anthony Gormley.

Portrait Artist of the Year
S8 overview, which worked in my favour because I skipped most of the episodes, and they skipped the final out.
