RE: Rugby Union Roundup
Someone has to have very deep pockets to ressurrect the club for and do feel the RFU now has a lot to answer for in some small way.
This was an intresting read though : -

Even to the average layperson (very much me when it comes to company set ups etc on this scale) when trawling through the numbers contained in the article, and the facts highlighted in terms of actions and timelines, there were clear alarm bells sounding, and seemingly nobody was listening - where their is such a complicated network of intertwined company structures..?????! As the article ends...so shall I - let the 'investigations' begin indeed!

Maybe I just have a suspicious mind, but was the administration of the Warriors RFC not - in comparison - dare I say it to football - the first option HMRC looked for?? It seems to me - and unless looking through foggy lenses - certain other clubs/entities of the round ball variety, were given 'stays of execution' when faced with similar/same financial issues, whereas WWRFC were thrown to the wolves??

I can only assume HMRC must have noticed something dodgy (if there were signd of dodgy deals) was going on quite early on . And I agree it does seem very strange how football clubs sometimes get 'stays of execution' yet Worcester were not and by all accounts wound up. I am sure in the article somewhere it said that the club admins probably were not fully aware of what was exacrly going on until it was too late.

I think the RFU is now in a very difficult position if there was a new owner. I think the administrators are looking for a very quick sale.

RE: Rugby Union Roundup
I see now that Wasps are days from entering the 'protection' of administration. Ironic that they have found themselves in this position despite having the highest turnover of any team in the league! Maybe their move to the Ricoh, was not the money spinner they had projected it would be! Maind you, they did get decent crowds at it quite often, so maybe got the sums wrong - covid a player in this obviously too - as with the Warriors??! I hope - as with Worcester - (Dallaglio you walnut) - they can find a way out of this mess!

When you set the Prems income side - by - side with the RFU equivalent, there is an obligation - I believe - on the RFU to get involved here with a cash injection (there is also another clear truism). As a shareholder maybe, but not - I would hope - to the extent that they take effective control of the player pool, to the detriment of the domestic league competition (comparison of the finances - by the way - point too, to the 'tail wagging the dog' in my view - in terms of the 'supporter base') - creating central contracts as is the case with English cricket! That would be the death knell for the game in England. It exists here with the IRFU as everyone knows, to the detriment of Ulster etc and the URC I believe!

Wasps have been suspended from the Premiership and Premiership Rugby Cup for the season and will be relegated and their results for this season deleted.

Sad times for Rugby Union with such a big name falling from grace Sad.

Wayne Pivac has departed from his role of Head Coach for Wales and been replaced with former incumbent Warren Gatland.

Inevitable!! His overall record was abysmal!! Despite how good Gatland waqs first time around, second comings do not always follow the same path?? I reckon there is something radical coming in domestic rugby in Wales.

RE: Rugby Union Roundup
Borthwick is the constructive and sensible choice. Knows the Premiership and the English game very well.
A sound appointment.
