Neil Robertson got thumped by Dominic Dale, and looks like having lots of extra practice time before Sheffield now.

In the all Welsh tussle it was Jak Jones who prevailed 4-3 over Mark Williams in a really excellent match I had the pleasure to watch from beginning to end.
Both players played some super stuff in all facets of the game.

Ronnie's tip/ferrule seems to be giving him more trouble than his opponents (though credit to Rod Lawler, surely, for reaching the 3rd round at all. He was OK in the first frame).

Main headlines today aside from tipgate are the exits of defending champion Joe Perry and English Open champ Mark Selby.

Perry lost 4-1 to Robbie Williams while Selby got dumped out by Robert Milkins who sealed a 4-2 victory in style with a 137 break.

I thought Big Bob was up against it, but clearly he stuck the distance.
