Laurie Lee - The Lost Tapes
How a local telly show managed to get the reclusive author to give a part-interview around his 80th birthday, and what became of the tapes after the guy died in 1997. The interviewer involved revealed that he met the actual Rosie from Laurie's book, but Laurie asked him not to use her stuff as the book used an amalgam of several girls. The interviewer was secretly pleased because she wasn't as good at recall as Laurie.

7.9 The semi-finalists comprise 4 professionals and 4 amateurs, as their sitter is author Bernardine Evaristo.
PAotY 2020
7.10 The final sees Eddie Izzard in the sitting chair. Two of the finalists are great and deserve to win. The other was lousy IMO all the way through and wins, seemingly for novelty value.

The Surprising Story of Kids TV
Konnie Huq does her bit for the BBC centenary, though there are occasional mentions of non-Beeb shows like Children's Ward and Press Gang. Floella Benjamin and Johnny Ball were present and good inclusions.

Film Noir
1 - Origins of Noir
The "Discovering" team again, this time looking at a genre in a longer form than the "top 25" format. They did at least have old Derek along to give the others a break.

7.11 The crappy winner gets to paint draw noted dancer Carlos Acosta for the benefit of Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, and to be fair, it's the best piece he did through the series - the 4 hour format didn't seem to be his strength.

2 series to go! Surprised

FN
2 - Classic Noir
The post-WW2 heyday of American films, with The Third Man thrown in at the end to show that other countries could manage it too, and because any chance to discuss The Third Man is OK with them.
