Slow boards help!!!... check here

Just to add, I'm having the same problem using the site from California.

This happens whether or not I use the site by directly typing the site name into the browser, or, my usual way which is to connect using remote software so I am actually using my PC in ther UK.

It doesn't seem to be happening with other UK-based sites I regulartly connect to.

Seems easier this evening. I did cut the number of posts per page earlier, whether that makes loading easier, or it's a coincidence, or what, I dunno. I mean, do people generally want lots of posts on a page. I was perhaps partly inspired by winsaw's recent wrestling photos about which it would be more tactful to say less.

Thanks very much for your constructive offer, but we've been busy through the night installing some new monitoring software on the server which should give us a detailed picture of exactly what's going on. Thanks to PhredE too for his comment about California, as that was useful information. Everyone please be assured that there's a whole lot of work being done on this problem and it will end up being fully resolved.

Taking ages to post anything

This is likely to be nothing to do with this but as a shot in the dark - there are many posters who upload videos here and I've noticed that some now along with the endless pop ups also auto play when the thread is opened. Some threads have multiple videos playing at once. Could this be causing issues, whether the amount of content or the link to the hosting site(s)? Example below:

Trend at the moment seems to be that I'm finding the site runs quicker in the mornings then slows significantly as the day wears on.

I find that the speed is sufficient at the moment but sporadically it drops and I end up timing out a lot of the time and then having to reload the page. Yesterday was difficult at times but like snooks has said I find the mornings to be easier to get the pages to load, however I start work mega early in the morning and I find that around 2-3am in the morning it can be difficult at times but this could just be my wifi connection speed, not sure if it's connected to the recent slowness of the forum loading.....
