Noticed the tories quietly slipped out the announcement confirming The American XL Bully Breed ban will come into effect from the end of the year.

This won't make a blind bit of difference to dog attacks as the likes of RSPCA & The Dogs Trust have said already as all the illegal puppy farms, irresponsible breeders & irresponsible dog owners will just switch to a breed not banned and we'll have a similar situation like now with the XL bully & before that, staffies. German Shepherds/Alsatians and Rottweilers.

Also it's not going to work as XL Bully IS NOT A BREED!!!

It's owners not breeds.

They should be banned just for being ugly.

Just for the sake of clarity, are you referring to the Dogs, the Owners, or both?

Anyone who owns one should be banned for life from owning a dog if the dog kills. The Govt shoufd allow the police to go in hard on all irresponsible owner/breeders and ensure the illegal puppy farms are shut down and those who are irresponsible have their assets frozen or seized.
The trouble is the Govt are far too much up their own arses thinking that just banning the breed will put a stop to it. Any sane ;person will tell you - IT WON'T.

Exactly, this is where things should be focused on in this, on the irresponsible owners and irresponsible breeders/criminal gangs and go after these with the full force of the law.

Plus as you say banning the XL bully won't put a stop to dog attacks. The irresponsible breeders etc will just move to another breed and we'll have a similar situation to what's going on with the XL bully. Before them, it was Staffies, before them, German Shepherd and so on

They were interviewing a guy on the radio, the other day, who was bitching about having to apply for an exemption for the one he has.

"He has a lovely temperament, he's playing with my 2 year old stepson just now. We have 6 kids and another on the way and he's great with all of them".

What kind of fuckwit looks at one of those and says "that'll make a great family pet".

If the breeding is documented for 4 (I think) generations, they can apply for it to become a recognised breed.
