Former Tory MP Scott Benton is facing a 35 day suspension for breaching standards rules, which could trigger a by-election (thats by not bi so everyone shitting their pants over Dr Who don't need to get their knickers in a twist), if the 10% recall threshold is met

Benton's seat had been Labour since 97 switching to The Tories in 2019, whilst Benton received 49.6% to Labour's 38.3% that amounts to less than 4k votes, so if it were to go to a by-election you'd expect a Labour win.

Interestingly (or what counts as interesting in political terms) in 2019 The Brexit Party out performed the Lib Dems in that seat with 6.7% of the vote, so this would be a good test of where Reform stand, vis a vis my previous post in regards to them.

There is also the chance of a by-election in Peter Bone's constituency, he last won that with 62.2% with Labour in 2nd on 26.5%, a tall order but on a par with Mid Beds, Selby & Tamworth

^ Relief in the Tory party that it’s just basic corruption for Benton rather than being a sex pest. I remember seeing his benefits declaration a while ago and it was difficult so see how he got time to be an MP with all the sports events he was at as a guest of the Gambling firms.
