RE: Liverpool FC

As Financial Domination continues to grow, less enthusiasm is required when putting on a show.

RE: Liverpool FC
It's the end of an era. Jurgen Klopp will leave Liverpool as the Premier League's longest serving manager and Pep Guardiola will inherit that title. Even if the Football League is included, Klopp is still the 3rd longest serving manager in England, behind Simon Weaver of Harrogate Town and John Coleman of Accrington Stanley.

This is what it must have felt like when the Queen died.
Xabi Alonso is my pick for next manager.

Have to admit, I expected this a couple more years away Sad

Think Xabi would be a good shout for replacement

I also think that in a year or so, once Jurgen has recharged his batteries, he will come back to manage Germany as his swan song.

Winning the League and a Cup or 2 would be a great farewell Tongue

There was a press conference yesterday ahead of Liverpool's FA Cup tie this weekend and then another today regarding Klopp's departure. Surely if they had known yesterday that the Klopp announcement was going to be made they would have arranged just one press conference to cover both matters.

Bit worried that Hodgson is free at end of season.

His love for the club is so obvious, clearly wants to end at the "right" time. Avoiding what happened at Dortmund and most managers. Very few get to leave on their own terms.

We should all open YouTube and smile watching the Trent corner, the Allison goal, qualifying for CL with Nat and Rhys, all those United games, fans singing Oles at the wheel etc etc etc.

Maybe the new manager will teach Trent how to defend ?????

Jürgen thanks for the memories YNWA.

I'd be surprised if Alonso turned it down, and said he wanted to stay at Leverkausen - not sure when his contract ends. It would probably work better If they paired Stevie G with him - it would be too big a job for Stevie atm and at least then he would succeed Alonso.
As for Klopp, I wonder if he probably would be installed as German national team coach at some point it would be the only logical job left for him, I doubt we will see him in a club managerial role again - and the same could be said for Guardiola.

Would Tuchel be a good choice??

Love Stevie G but I don't want him anywhere near the coaching side at the min. He has far too much to prove and learn yet.
Alonso is a great romantic fit, every coach he has played under, has said he would be a top manager.
If it's not Alonso, it's a bit of a weird one, no real outstanding options, the days of Jose and Conte have gone, Big Ange probs wouldn't leave Spurs, for me, still too many questions about Thomas Frank and De Zerbi managing a huge club, it really only leaves Nagelsmann or Zidane.
