Yes what you say is correct and it's entirely fair comment, but on the other hand it's just not the best way of experiencing VR. Since you're using a VR enabled browser rather than a VR video player, you're not going to have the same settings available and the same control over the content. Unless there are some advanced browsers out there that I'm unaware of. I know there are some VR browsers other than the standard Oculus one but I haven't tried them.

The VT market is contracting right now. News reports are saying that sales in the US were down almost 40% in 2023. Perhaps VR is no longer 'the future'.

To add a bit of context, the sales of VR products doubled during lockdown, so perhaps some market adjustment was to be expected. I mean it was literally 100% sales increase from one year to the next, so maybe some cooling off since then isn't such a big deal.

The enthusiasm of porn viewers for VR has waxed and waned somewhat, so it's hard to know what lies ahead for this technology. A few years ago VR seemed to be the future of the adult industry, as it was so innovative and added a whole new dimension to how adult material was viewed. But the anticipated revolution simply hasn't happened and even many people who have bought headsets now leave them to gather dust as they return to traditional 2D viewing. Although having said that, there are still new products in development and due to hit the market before long, so the VR companies obviously haven't given up on the concept. But are they now aiming for a select market or are they still hoping to eventually captivate a much wider audience than they have now.

I honestly think that VR porn would be dead in the water by now if it wasn't for Zuck and Meta.

I think we could have a great debate over that last comment, but then we shouldn't make this thread all about Meta and the Metaverse. It's better to concentrate on the question of why VR porn isn't more mainstream and I don't think it's that hard to understand. I mean VR isn't easy to get into in general. You have to spend a few hundred pounds at least to start with and then wear something on your head which is pretty uncomfortable and if you can bear it still have only limited battery time, not to mention the unfortunate fact that there isn't that much content available anyway.

We'll have to wait and see if AI porn becomes bigger than VR porn, but it wouldn't be a big surprise if it did. Then there's future porn which is both AI and VR.

OK so I bought a new headset and I've only got positive things to say about it. Such a big advance on what I had before. Firstly, the picture I had before was good, but this is even better, it's really good. Secondly, it's way more comfortable to wear than what I had before, a seriously big improvement. Third, I've now got longer running time through more battery life and a quicker recharging time too. Probably double the time I had before which is pretty cool. Finally, I can view files remotely, and this is a huge step forward which I wasn't even expecting. No more having to copy files to the headset which was always a nuisance to have to do and could be very time consuming. All in all, I'm now on a different level of VR entirely and I'm blown away by the progress. Every drawback I ever found with VR has been answered.

I was very impressed by VR porn. This is a completely different level. Of course, there is still room for improvement, but overall I am delighted.
