Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

I must admit I was a bit sceptical going into this movie for a number of reasons:

How could you have a Mad Max movie without...er... well, Max?

The way it has not done so well or frankly, bombed at the box office, etc, etc.

My scepticism was misplaced and how this didn't do as good as it should have done in the cinema is beyond me. Anya Taylor-Joy is perfectly cast as Furiosa (imo) - her dialogue is very limited to say the least but as it has been mentioned in previous reviews of this movie that I've seen online, it is her facial expressions that bring the character to life. Her mannerisms, her steely nature and her instincts within some of the scenes do the character justice and hats off to her for that.

The action scenes are incredible when they happen, the way George Miller has brought to life another part of this franchise and the way he manages to create these awesome Mad Max movies are at times breath-taking.

Sure some of the purists might say about there being no Max is a bit of a problem in this, however this is still a great movie to watch (preferably on a loud stereo system ), but it only just, and very marginally, falls short of 'Fury Road', but make no mistake this is still a quality, action, wasteland, post apocalyptic movie you'd expect from a Mad Max movie - I watched it on a sound system at quite a high volume , which, imo, is needed for this movie.

Big shoutout to the rest of the cast - Chris Hemsworth is brilliant but Anya Taylor-Joy is outstanding even though she has very limited dialogue.

An interesting take on a revenge thriller, with a surprise ending.

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes - 8/10.

My advice, don't read too much about it, you will enjoy it more if you don't see spoilers. This one moves it further along in time, now several generations from where the last one ended, the world is very different, but I think things have the potential to get spicy in the next, and I'll leave it at that.

A Quiet Place:Day One - 5/10 a couple of tense moments but really more of a drama than an action movie or thriller.
