RE: The "happy" Thread AKA "not the "pissed off thread"
Saw a most rare thing today that really made me smile.

A doddery old lady walking home with her shopping and fell over hurting her knee just as she reached the gate. Shopping splayed all over the pavement.
Two young lads turned up, can't have been older than 7 or 8.
One says to the old lady he would fetch his mom from down the road as she is a nurse.
Off he runs to get his mom.
The other child collects all the shopping and puts it back in the bags and comforts the old lady while waiting for mom to turn up.
Mom turns up with first aid kit in tow. Treats the cuts and bruises and helps the lady into her property as the kids take the shopping in.

I stood and watched in amazement from a bit of a distance. I thought of intervening myself but thought no these kids seem to have it in hand. How utterly wonderful.
Proud of em. Kept me smiling all day. Mom done a right good job bringing her kids up.
Well done to allSmile.

Off to see New Order and Johnny Marr later on. Really looking forward to it. Proper old skool music, and in the open air as well. Fingers crossed the weather plays ball!

Becky Roberts has stolen my heart and will always have my undying love.

Buzzing after a cracking round of golf, birdied the first 3 holes all with putts around 10 ft. Had another run of 3 birdies on the back nine. Got a full set of birdies on all the par fives. Highlight was an eagle on a par 4 with a drive & a nine iron that was like a laser guided missile, it never left the flag, it made a pleasing sound as it rolled out & clunked into the pin before disappearing into the cup.

^Glad the old lady was ok. Hopefully she's not one of the pensioners who has their winter fuel payment removed.

The GB Paralympic team are such a joy to watch and so ridiculously inspiring too.
Gold medals are being won here there and everywhere. It's utterly bonkers in the best possible way. If they carry on like this it might be time to diagnose the team with an allergy to any colour medal except Gold Wink Tongue.

Anyway I can't wipe the fatuously stupid grin off my face Big Grin. They really are doing awesome things in Paris. Good on em.

Had a day up at York today.
Weather was amazing. Took a walk around the impressive wall .
Paid a visit to the cathedral. Had a boat trip on the river and bumped into Lisa Riley.
She smiled and said hello. I politely asked if she was ok.
All in all a decent day. Even the shitty drive back down the M1 (roadworks) didn't spoil the day.Big Grin

But being as this is a .44 magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?”
