There must be some sort of a curse on England's opening pair, this was to be a reunion of sorts after Crawley has been missing after a hand injury, now it looks as if Duckett has a similar injury.
You have to have some sympathy for Pope after skippering the side through 149 overs he has to strap the pads on, it felt almost inevitable that a duck would follow.

Olly Stone is flying home from the tour. He's getting married on Saturday. He probably didn't expect to be picked for the team this series.

There's not going to be a result in this match, so Root and Brook should carry on and get themselves on the records board. There aren't many players who reach a triple century in their life.

I expect England to give themselves somewhere in the region of 100 overs to try & force a result which would give them a 2nd new ball. Highly unlikely, but Pakistan have a history of imploding in their 2nd innings. Pitches of this nature are bad for Test Match Cricket, there's literally been no deterioration, it's not really taken any spin, hopeless. To make matters worse we have another one of these at the very same venue on Tuesday.
Pope & Rizwan must be kicking themselves for missing out on this track.

Shame it isn't a timeless test really
