1.9 The commission was at Flatford, the site famous for Constable's "The Hay Wain". So the Scawtish winner got to visit the place a few times before returning to her studio back home, inbetween visits to collections of Constable pictures. Anyway, the final unveiling goes well, so that's alright then.

2.1 I might have been wise to pause and watch some other stuff, but never mind now. Scotney Castle in Kent is the lively opening offering here. I wondered whether it might not work as well, but in some ways this is a better series than the Portrait version, for the freedom of choice, and also the wild card section brings more people into the mix. One thing they seem to have dropped is the guest selection of a painting, which frees up more time for checking up on the painters in action.

2.2 The Golden Age of the British Screen Idol
From the 1920s to the 1960s, citing Michael Caine as the last great one. Nice to get a mention of Michael Redgrave for once in these shows.
TAoF
2.3 The Korda Story
Three Hungarian brothers who helped advance British cinema in its early years, through directing, producing & more.

Americast
Justin Webb and Sarah Smith chat half the time, then Justin chats to Christiane Amanpour about what effect the Middle East might have on the US Election. Oh, I wonder.

2.2 A sunny day at Wray Castle, in Cumbria, but taking a view away from the castle. A somewhat gimmicky winner.

The Footage Detectives
Paul Cotgrove was a rare guest, having found some rare Peter Sellers reels in a skip.
