I do get the feeling Carsley's biggest shortcoming is being Lee Carsley. I mean, Southgate was over-promoted, but at least there was a slim argument in his favour. Carsley getting the gig at all was like giving it to Paul Merson.

Also the FA needs to also look at the process of ex - players getting coaches badges and see if there is any way it can be streamlined better in a way so we have not only good young coaches coming through that can develop into managers with the England job as a future ambition. When you see that the likes of Argetina & Spain and possibly Germany having good young coaches coming through their system and into their national team manager position, I'm often wondering if our process is hindering young coaches rather than developing them.

At least now Carsley can go back to managing the Under21's.

think for carsley was about `10 years to early

other than pep or klopp who would have been dream appointments or Howe would have been good but he was never going to leave newcastle at the moment Tuchel is a good choice

actually Rooney doing ok at Plymouth he needs to build his reputation back up after the last two appointments he did well at derby under very trying circumstances

wow last english manager to win the league was Howard Wilkinson with leeds season before Premier league Started

last one to win the FA Cup was Harry Redknapp in 2008

Last one to win European cup was Joe Fagan 40 years ago

but the likes of bob paisley and Cloughie had won it for multiple years and of course the Villa win

Tactically Tuchel could be far better than Southgate, but the FA need to let him do the job his way more than anything. If they try to intefere they may find themselves back at square one very quickly.

Well done also to Aitana Bonmati for winning the Womens Ballon d'Or for the 2nd year in a row. I saw the Womens Champions League from the Quarter Final to the Final on TNT Sports last season, and Bonmati was superb! Well deserved!
