2.5 David Lean in Black & White
His career up to Hobson's Choice. Kim Newman still on hand to pad out familiar ideas.
TAoF
2.6 The Birth of the Moguls
The last of the series showed why immigration was crucial to the formation of Hollywood, listing all the European diaspora who started studios, up to Walt Disney.

Overall an informative series if sometimes a bit dry. When it's more distracting by how a series like this is shot, then that's an issue.

Late Night w/Seth Meyers
Riley Keough was pushing the book on her mother Lisa Marie Presley, whilst Eric Idle also had a book (and may have been a first time guest). Then, Steve Martin & Martin Short had a double act to share, after which Juno Temple seemed a bit overshadowed.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel here, even to meet up with Amy Dowden.
SC's GDO

No idea why there was such a gap between shows, or why she switched back and forth between the two formats. She checked out hot air balloons, wetlands, the story of the Bristol bus boycott, bigged up Banksy, visited the SS Great Britain, the secret underzone beneath Clifton Suspension Bridge, and finally Blenheim Palace.

A charming series for all that, though.

2.9 The winner's commission is of Petworth House, some gaff associated with Turner. Also a repository of many, many great paintings, so not a bit daunting. The place was also chosen to mark the 300th anniversary of the great Capability Brown. After all the build-up, the guy paints 2 pictures, one proper one and a jokey companion piece of the first done as a postcard on a rack; both very good indeed.

Mercifully SA seem to have halted these repeats, allowing me a break from art.
LAotY 2017
3.1 Back again, checking out Knaresborough in YORKSHIRE, with some oldies playing bowls in the foreground of a castle. One bloke largely ignores the overdose of choice by painting the next competitor along.

Liam Neeson is making a Naked Gun remake with Pamela Anderson; Jenny Slate and Tim O'Brien had books to flog. Then later Lin-Manuel Miranda had a concept album to push, and Bernadette Peters was pushing a special one-night-only show.
