After 25 years Gary Lineker is to step down as host of Match of the Day.
He's also going to leave the BBC .

That should save the BBC some money.

Its not like he needs the money either

Didnt know he owned Goal Hanger Productions that do all the top Podcasts in the UK so is raking it in

Plus he is in his 60s prob winding down thats the reason wrighty gave as it was so much work doing MOTD

plus wont get his wage being used by the daily heil and co to beat him with

I expect he'll turn up on TNT for the European football next year or Sky

Because he wanted to follow Leicester City in Europe. That's not actually likely to trouble him for some while If he does go anywhere else he'll probably earn double what the BBC paid him.

So who is likely to take over? I wonder if it will be Mark Chapman (think it would be his 2nd stint) or Darren Fletcher.

I have to say I think Davids Coote should have known it was likely that he would find his comments would be shared on Social mediaat some point. THe PGMOL have suspended but I think many hope further disciplainary action will see him sacked or banned from refereeing again in the professional game here. As for the PGMOL I think there has to be further questions raised over their standards theyb set for their members and fully expect they will make changes to their disciplinary procerdures.
