8.1 Ain't no stoppin' her now, she's on the move to the South Downs. She goes to Hundred Acre Wood (or Ashdown Forest), Battle abbey (to talk 1066), and somewhere called Hassocks (where there's a gardening museum).
SC's GDO
8.2 Billed as "Cheshire and surrounds" that means Manchester and N Wales. To whit, the Llangollen canal and the Pointcysyttle aqueduct, and later Jodrell Bank, the walls of Chester, the salt works of Northwich, and even Stoke on Trent. Some of which places I have been to too.

3.8 The final takes place at Winkworth Arboretum in Surrey. The finalists get an extra half-hour to sort their composition, but only 2 of them take it up. The two blokes are amateurs, and the lady is a professional. They were all really good, but even with the commissions I leaned towards 2 being better than the other. Sure enough, the other one was the winner.
LAotY 2017
3.9 Oddly though viewers were told from the start what the commission would be, the winner wasn't told until the end of the previous show. Quite how the runners-up felt about this is not recorded.
The winning amateur, who turned out to be a school art teacher, like in S1, visited Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, and then got to spend a few days in Jamaica, visiting Noel Coward's old gaff, to paint the view there. The unveiling went OK though.
Glad there's another break before the next repeated series.

7.7 To Thornwood Springs in Essex to try for rudd. Paul manages a trout, they try sleeping in a church, get frustrated by geese, but do eventually catch a decent rudd at the 11th hour.
M&W: GF
7.8 Down to the river Frome in a quest for grayling, as their surprisingly longest series draws to a close. Bob caught a trout, and Paul had already caught a cold. Bob also caught a gurnard, and they were able to check out Chesil Beach. Bob even demonstrated his amazing apple-splitting routine.
Again, another warm and welcome series. Unlike the last one, which felt like they wanted to stop, this felt like they were happy to keep going as long as possible.
