On day two Mark Williams saw off Bai Yulu 4-1 while Kyren Wilson won the battle of the 2023 and 2024 world champions in trouncing Luca Brecel. On to the group final then which was an exceptional match.

Breaks over 65 in every frame and two centuries a piece but it was the Welshman who fended off the World champion to win 6-5.

Kyren made a good start in the evening, but Mark was clearly in one of his moods and remains a force to be reckoned with.

Robbo took his sweet time, but he did see off Trump in the end 6-4.

Ronnie O'Sullivan took a 3-0 lead over Xiao Guodong but the man from China stormed back to win 4-3 and knock the crowd favourite out in Bolton.

Mark Selby then saw off Shaun Murphy 4-2 and surged into a 4-1 lead in the group final against Xiao Guodong only to lose 6-5.

Xiao will face Mark Allen in the semi finals while Mark Williams will play Neil Robertson.

Credit to Xiao for two stunning comebacks out of 2.

Make that 3 out of 3. Well, he started the better, to be honest. He might be the underdog tomorrow, but both Williams and Robertson combined astonishing ability with occasional frailty.

Mark Williams has powered into the final with a 6-2 victory over Neil Robertson to set up a final against Xiao Guodong.
