TNF
Browns 24 - 19 Steelers
The Browns didn't play like their season was over, the fierce rivalry helped. playing for personal pride & a whole lot more. The Steelers season long problem was apparent through 3 quarters with their ineffectiveness in the Red Zone, drives stalling & having to settle for field goals. As the snow came down the game heated up. The Browns QB willed himself into the End Zone & a smart coaching move to go for a 2 pointer gave them a 18-6 lead which required the Steelers to score 2 td's. It looked a tall order in the conditions, but they did just that, aided by a Browns turnover the found themselves with a 19-18 lead. But the Browns weren't done & the moved downfield & scored the go ahead field goal. There was a last gasp Hail Mary from Wilson, but the Browns have a new hero in Winston. Myles Garrett was unstoppable & had 3 sacks on the night, his rival T J Watt was unable to get to Wilson.
Great credit has to go to the staff who did a standout job of clearing the snow from the field markings, & the loyal Browns fans for sticking it out.
Al Michaels summed it up, "What a show"

Last Night summed up what I love about the sport. Even though the Browns won't be headed anywhere this season, they played with passion. The picturesque snow was the perfect touch Smile
The Steelers have a habit of losing trap games
I have a feeling that they will turn to Fields come playoff time

Give them less, they will pay more

^^ A compelling game, it had everything. Forgot to mention the 2 punts, both less than 20 yards. All this would be lost with a Dome.

Some lopsided matches this weekend in terms of the season records so far.
Teams with winning records v Teams with losing records in the main.

That being said the 49ers @ Packers looks the most intriguing game of the lot to me.

There was a comment about this in a similar vein on the PFT show, Florio said it was very early in the season for the cream to separate from the crap. Big Grin

If Purdy can't go on Sunday or plays hurt, I can see the Niners coming up short. Injuries are still stacking up, same with many teams, many taking the field each week with problems that only rest will solve.
A strange stat is that the 49ers have the leagues 2nd best offense, & 6th best defense, yet stand at 5-5 bottom of the NFC West.
My view is that the Super Bowl loss hurt this team more than you could imagine. It was the best chance they have had for years, & the way they lost stung.
Something is missing this season. Despite some very poor teams the NFL is still highly competitive performing at 80% of your capabilities isn't good enough & you will get punished most weeks.

Today's prediction. After getting beat last week I'm predicting that the Chiefs will stick at least 40 points on the board against the Panthers. They've already scored in the opening two minutes.

I hope that I'm wrong.

Purdy out, Bosa out, can the Niners win with a heavy dose of CMC & Mason ? The value of a capable back-up QB will be highlighted, I don't have the same faith in Brandon Allen as I did with Darnold last year, & he has shown he can win games with the Vikings this season. They will need massive help from their defence to stand any chance.
Packers are 6.5 points favourites but I expect a much greater margin of victory,

^^ Are the absentees the main reason for bookies making 49ers underdogs? Packers are my team but I think 49ers have capable replacements in their squad. They've also won the last three meetings against Packers.

Just think the home field might be making GB unjustified favourites. Strange that too, as SF have won their last two on the road...

Torn on this one. bladewave
