The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart
A sadly superficial look at the chaos in Syria, followed by a chat to Ben Wikler, possibly a new hope for the Dems from Wisconsin.

Loaded: Lads, Mags & Mayhem
Marking 30 years since it began, with tales of hi-jinks and some rather grim times, plus how it all came to an end (no mention of Keith Kendrick, mind).

Lioness S2 Ep 8 - Season Finale

Utterly brilliant season alround, although I felt the way the final episode ended, it needed another episode just to see the aftermath, consequences and relationships of what was to follow after the blowback from this particular episode.

I was fully engaged throughout the entire second season and it was great to see 'Cruz' back - she's awesome imo Smile. This season was just marginal but not as good as the first season (imo) but there is still lots to enjoy with season 2 - No confirmation "Yet" on season 3 but I've got my fingers crossed they will make another season.

Zoe Saldana is outstanding as is the entire cast - This series definitely needs to be renewed for another season imo.

11.9 The semi-final sees Joely Richardson subjected to 8 portraits. Having put through 6 women and 2 men to this stage, the judges kick out 5 of the chicks to decide on the finalists.

11.10 The final offers a new locale in some studio, and a double portrait of Andy Serkis and his wife Lorraine Ashbourne, with 5 hours instead of the usual 4. Plus the commissions. As I ruefully expected, even with hobbling Kate AWOL, they select the crap young guy as the winner.

This was a really good watch. Very interesting to see the slide from liberation to exploitation — right around the point that FHM and Maxim tried to “outload” Loaded. Then Zoo and Nuts came along to put the final nails in the coffin.

A fun cultural moment if you were there…

The Bottom Line
Steve Clemons meets Stephen Zunes to talk about the "forever wars" in the Middle East, then travels from the studio to Doha for once, to talk to Vali Nasr about the future for Iran's relations with the US.

11.11 The £10k commission was to paint Lorraine Kelly. Our winner, who turns to out be 29, an amateur, and trans, and whose extra painting in the final was an open-leg shot of his lady friend, got on with Lorraine like a house on fire. He expressed doubts (unsurprising given the scale of the task, so called on judge Tai for some morale boosting, which no previous winner has bothered with). Anyway, as usual, they all loved the finished painting, which to be fair, was easily the best he did in the whole competition.

8.5 To the South Scottish Glens, but mostly to the Isle of Arran, so Susan could repeatedly bring up childhood holidays there, which culminated in her trying to enthuse her niece and nephew in carrying on the baton.
SC's GDO
8.6 The end of the series, presumably, with a look at the Scottish Maritime Museum, plus repeats from shows involving boats and some trains.
