Even when behind Ronnie dug deep to equalise at 6-6 and the final battle saw Ronnie showing his unbeatable determination to take himself to the finish line.
Carter just couldn't get himself anywhere near to finishing what he set out to do.
It's hard to stay positive when facing the force of the rocket.

At the interval when they were talking about Carter not making many mistakes, I wanted Parrott to say "yeah, just one big one" and then prod Davis in the face to demonstrate. From 3-6 behind to 10-7 triumph is quite the turnaround.

Hendry made a similar comment in the Murphy match, that Ronnie sometimes seems to need to be punched first, to wake up to the challenge. I think there is some truth that he wants to be pushed, because after 30+ years, thousands of frames, breaks, etc, it must all become a blur.

Williams v Ding looks tie of the round to me but there are a number of interesting matches in the draw.
Kyren Wilson v Zhang Anda in particular.

The Ally Pally arena has a capacity of around 2200, and tickets to see Ronnie go like hot cakes! The touts probably got their hands on a fair share of them too, as they do. There must be around 2200 irate fans who paid to see Ronnie, some at highly marked up prices from the touts!

First match of the 50th Masters and what a match it was.
John Higgins stormed into a 5-1 lead with a slew of 50+ breaks after losing a cagey opening frame. But then Neil Robertson found his groove with runs of 63, 118 and 80 to take the contest to a decider which he won to shatter the Wizard of Wishaw. A quite remarkable 6-5 comeback triumph.
