To West London, for a cabbies' doorstep sandwich, a fine diners' scotch egg, and a fancy lamb kebab. But he disliked the Chelsea bun.

4 - Aston Villa
Well, we all know how cosmopolitan Birmingham keeps claiming to be. So, it's pad thai, followed by wild mushroom & truffle ravioli, followed by a mixed grill. He's less taken with pork scratchings, though.

2 - "The Uists", namely Eriskay, South Uist and Benbecula. Their van conking out was the main subplot, as their kids and dog were AWOL. They made sure to discuss Whisky Galore too.
J&G's WS: TIA
3 - Harris & Lewis, rounding off the Hebrides, with a new van, banter about woolly hats, the RNLI, Gaelic, seals, and oh, some more swims.

17/20 Christian Hook talks on Playing With Colour, which he demonstrates using just 7 colours, and doing a picture based on a blank bust of a face, which doesn't have any colour.
18/20 Fin Campbell-Notman returns to talk on Painting Skies and Clouds, based on a colour photo of some trees on a hilltop.
AotY - M
19/20 Wendy Barrett returns to talk on Drawing With Paint, using a profile shot of her live sitter, Fred.
20/20 Judge Tai returns to close off the series with a go at How To Attempt A Portrait, with a chattier more humble style than usual.
Overall, a fun series, though if I had to summarise all the masterclasses into one word, it would be layering.

From 2019, looking at the August 2018 failure of the Polcevera Bridge, talking to some of those who survived the fall, and then engineers and folks telling the history of its construction, what techniques were supposed to help it, and why they ultimately might not have done. A pretty grim story, although there was some light amid the gloom: two oldies who lived in low cost housing under the bridge got together as a result.
Why Bridges Collapse: The Baltimore Disaster
Of all the premises for a series... last March saw the Francis Scott Key Bridge get hit, and collapse into the water, killing many (though last minute warnings enabled traffic measures that saved many more - plus at that time of night there were less at risk). Opened in the Spring of 1977, it was unlucky that a subsequent incident in 1980 led to changing policies for new bridges, but tough luck for older bridges.

Back for a new series, and still nowt on the Middle East, or even Ukraine. Instead, a special from Taiwan about Chinese past, present and supposed future.
UW w/JS
Another special, this time from Latvia, and devoted to the Ukraine situation, culminating with a long rehash of John's previous coverage of Moscow events, going back to 1979.
