US Election & Presidency

With this tariff on Steel, I wonder if we will see prices rise on our cutlery, scissors & all things steel in shops... and wouldn't be surprised if we have to produce ID for anything made of steel eventually. Do we export much steel to the US?

I don't know if we'll see much price shifting on those things, as most are made cheap in China, but more expensive things, commercial steel products, yes.
We export four hundred million worth to the US each year, the thing I read said they are second to the EU for British steel imports. So not good if it happens.

dont think it will be effective esp if other follow tit for tat with tariffs might be way to get our steel else where

Doesn't help that they haven't been able to get on top of the bird flu outbreak that's caused this. People are now actively robbing places for eggs.
There was a story a last week about 100,000 eggs being pinched from a supplier, just checked again, that's forty grand worth of eggs. Madness.

It must be truly eggsasperating to pay such eggstortionate prices but I guess that's what happens when you elect an Orange Oeuf as President.
