1/2 The 1970s
From the "do you remember Spangles?" school of cheap docs, with a right bunch of c-list celebs recalling crisps, chocs, ads, old sweetshops, etc
SaSWLaL
2/2 The 1980s
Tuck shops, classic ads, horror themes replaced by sci-fi ones, Robert Elms, Woolworths Pic n Mix, and, yes, Spangles (discontinued in 1984, so no, I don't remember them).

Eastenders: 40 Years on the Square
Ross Kemp goes "home" to big up the show's trend for tackling "issues", and ends up going back to being Grant Mitchell too.

Arts in Motion
A BBC series of masterclasses; this one with Anthony Gormley, and therefore different from a usual form, and maybe more productive and fun.

Russia's Shadow, on Africa
How France decided to pass on the Central African Republic to their friends in Russia, and how they now feel about Wagner, and how some in the CAR feel about it.

5.9 The commission sees the winner going to Venice to homage John Ruskin. Judge Kate manages to tag along for a while. The finished picture gets the thumbs up from RIBA, but it's a giveaway that the judges picked out someone in a similar idiom to Ruskin. Had they picked anyone else, it would have been quite the clash of styles.
Landscape Artist of the Year 2021
6.1 Back at last, from Chartwell House in Kent, but with only 6 contestants instead of 8. You might have thought the open air aspect was covid-friendly, but I guess it was early days. At least the sun shines.

Arena: I Am Not Your Negro
Samuel L Jackson's tribute to James Baldwin, using notes made for a late 1970s series, unfinished, in which JB links the lives and deaths of Medgar Evers, Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X. I only found out after that yesterday was the 60th anniversary of the murder of Malcolm X.
