I make no secret of the fact that I don't rate Starmer as a PM, but at the same time he's not stupid. Offering another State Visit to Trump might make a lot of people want to throw up (me included) but it's a means to an end. The best way to deal with the Donald is to use his vanity to your own advantage and this is possibly the best weapon we have. Trump is well known to have been a big fan of the Queen even if she, allegedly, didn't feel the same about him. She had to meet with some very unpleasant people over the years and had pretty much all of them wrapped around her finger.

The last couple of days have seen some slightly more positive noises coming out of the WhiteHouse which can only be good for us and Ukraine IF it continues. Time will tell.
