Think I'll stick with linux.

...and I'll stick with an OS that has professional desktop application support . Linux for servers or bespoke uses is fine. Everyday desktop, not yet despite years of promises

I wouldn't trust BBC media to report reliably on IT security even if I had no other source.

Users are normally to blame for the malware, clicking on anything without reading. If these self same users used Linux the same issues would occur as they would eagerly click stuff and enter their admin passwords

Security is as good as the weakest link. In my experience that is nearly always the user. Time for people to stop blaming Windows quite so much and start blaming themselves for that dodgy download they wanted
