England v South Africa ODI & T20I Series

England have pulled Ben Duckett from the T20I squad who are set to face South Africa next week. After enjoying a productive Test series against India he has since struggled for form in The Hundred & carried that slump through into the ODI's looking particularly frustrated at Lords.
Duckett is one of the few all format England Internationals & fatigue is bound to play a part in form. The man set to gain is Sam Curran who has yet to play any part in the McCullum era, much like Jordan Cox who was added to the squad to face Ireland, weight of runs has demanded their selection & in the case of Curran wickets.

As I expected England show stubbornness by sticking with the same 4 main bowling options. Jamie Overton comes in for Mahmood who bowled well ? which further strengthen England's batting. It remains to be seen whether it improves the bowling. So just one change. With Duckett pulled from the T20I squad & the series lost, I would've opted to also sit him out today & freshen things up by giving Banton a run out.

South Africa with the series won have the luxury to rest the impressive Ngidi, his replacement is Codi Yusuf who has played for Durham this season. Mulder is back in with Muthusamy making way.

Potentially a delayed start with rain arriving soon after the toss.

Pity it took the 3rd ODI to get our shit together with the series over. Preparation time leading into the series was minimal & none existent in some cases straight off the back of The Hundred. Only 8 of the 15 man squad took part in training the day before the 1st ODI. The domestic & International schedule is unsustainable.
