Credit to the Panthers for almost providing an upset against the highly fancied Rams. After falling behind 14-0 the Panther fought back & took the lead in the 4th quarter, twice only to be denied inside the final minute of the game.

These first 3 games might be the best opening 3 games to a playoffs ever

Incredible drama in every game, going to the wire in every game, back and forth contests.

Think this Eagles vs 49ers could follow a similar path as well

I'm fully prepared to not enjoy this next game. Eagles 5.5 point favourites, over/under total points is 44.5.

Well after another epic in Philly saw the 49ers take down the defending champions as usual the Darn Patriots come along and spoil the fun and just put a defensive beat down on the Chargers as Herbert again fails to deliver in the playoffs.

So we now know

So proud of the 49ers epic victory against the Eagles. I do expect anything more in the playoffs, the Seahawks should be too strong. In effect this was their Super Bowl, before that even making the playoffs was a miracle. To defeat the reigning Super Bowl champions is absolutely phenomenal under the circumstances.
The Eagles are stacked with talent on offence & defence they should really have had a comfortable victory. Given that talent they really have some issues with the coaching & QB relationship for one & the system & playbook they employ, just way too simplistic for the modern NFL era.
The Eagles were out coached by the Niners, it was a monumental epic heroic effort to pull off the biggest upset this weekend.
Again they had to overcome yet another star player going down in Kittle, like Bosa & Warner before him, impossible to replace.
Despite throwing 2 interceptions Purdy threw for 2 TD's, but the highlight was the trick play with a Jennings end around & pass to CMC, who had another 100+ combined game with some hard fought yards on the ground. Demarcus Robinson had a 100 tard receiving game & a TD.
Barkley had 100 yards rushing but Hurts could only manage 168 yards passing against a Niners secondary ranked 25th who give up 232 yard per game.
The Eagles had 7 penalties & the Niners just one which a was a bad call. The Eagles had an advantage of over 10 minutes in time of possession but couldn't convert that gain into enough points to win due to mainly an overly conservative gameplan, the big point of difference was 2 or 3 big plays from the Niners.

After 4 fantastic one score games the Pats v Charger matchup didn't quite deliver. Drake Maye did just enough, Justin Herbert wasn't allowed to do enough, he was constantly under pressure & took a real beating as he has all season, with 6 sacks on the night he sustained some heavy hits. The only TD of the game came from a 28 yard pass from Maye to Hunter Henry in the 4th quarter.
Herbert is contracted until 2029, he might not last that long if they don't start protecting him soon, he's been beaten up for the last 2 seasons.

Stroud fumbled twice in the 1st half to hand the Steelers great field position, but they failed to capitalize fully & only came away with 3 points from those turnovers.
The Steelers were still fortunate to trail 6-7 at halftime after a Stroud a TD pass to the excellent Chris Kirk who had 8 catches for 144 yards,the Texans moved the ball the better of the 2 teams & could've held a commanding lead but for the fumbles.
An interception from Stroud again failed to materialize into Steelers points as both teams struggled to create any substantial drive in a 3rd quarter where both teams were forced to punt.
Into the 4th quarter & the game still in the balance with a slim advantage to the Texans at 10-6, a Rodgers fumbled at his own 33 which the Texans recovered for a TD.
With over 11 minutes remaining the Steelers still had time but couldn't create a spark.
The Texans scored 2 late TD's the last was curtesy of a turnover as Rodgers last throw in the game resulted in an interception. Who know if we will see him somewhere next season, I suspect not. He still has the arm but the Texans defence capitalized on his lack of mobility as they inflicted 4 sacks in the game.
Stroud will have to be much better than for the Texans to go further in the Playoffs.
