Is there a way to add 'Buddys' to your list?

By clicking on them in a post? Its hard to remember thier names by the time one gets to ones CP! Surely there could be a shortcut to doing this?? (not that i have any buddys lol!)

You could just copy and paste the name

Can anybody enlighten me as to how i add 'buddys' and indeed what will be the advantage? I do, of course have to have some first!

Go to the 'Manage Buddy and Ignore Lists' option in your user CP, here.

Then, as Sooky said, copy and paste the name of the buddy you want to add into the 'Username' field. Then click the 'Add to Buddies' button.

The advantage of the buddies list, is that if you send regular PMs to someone, when composing a PM from scratch (rather than replying), you can click the 'Select from Buddies' link next to the recipients field and select one or multiple buddies. It essentially serves as a form of address book.

Ok, its the whole 'copy and paste' thing even i dont understand. Just what exactly do i copy? Thats why i didnt get it before, im not sure what to paste where

Copy the username of the person you want to add.

How to Copy & Paste
1. Highlight the username of the person you want to add using your cursor.
2. Under the edit menu in your browser select copy.
3. Click in the empty field in your buddies list
4. Under the edit menu in your browser, select paste


Alternatively, if you can't get to grips with that, then try typing the name of the person you want to add into the field on the Buddy List page. After you've typed a few letters a drop down list of possible matches will appear. Scroll down the list and select the name you want to add by clicking on it.
