The point still remains, a best friend is supposed to be somebody you can rely on. Bridge doesn't feel he can trust or rely on Terry anymore, the affair between Terry and Vanessa Perroncel happened only weeks after Bridge and she had split up. If you were a friend, you wouldn't be consoling him while all the time shagging her behind his back.

How do we know that Perroncel didn't call off her relationship with Bridge because she was seeing Terry? For all we know it could have been still going on.

hold on...bit confused here, why should wayne bridge have any input on her future relationships? before u all start going on about the kid thing, sometimes its alright for a single mum to have a bit of fun, especially as she is a SINGLE MUM! Another thing is you dont know what was going on in terry's relationship with his wife before this.

And also, its nice to see people are so compassionate and understanding with other people because you guys must get loads of lingerie models and page 3 models and actresses and just genuinely hot normal girls throwing themselves at you and im sure you are always faithful to your girlfriends and just say no thanks love, im with someone. its so easy to judge from the outside.

No, but how is that relevant to JT being stripped of the England captaincy? He should be judged on how he performs on the pitch when it comes to footballing decisions, not what he does off it unless it was a serious criminal offence.

Its relevant because it sets a bad image to the game and to the legions of fans who follow the game. A captain should set standards on and off the field, he is a figurehead for the game and should behave accordingly.

And I was simply responding to all the posts on here villifying Wayne Bridge for not shaking his hand. When all of you have now confirmed you would not have shook Terry's hand had you been in the same position..... I rest my case.

Well I wasn't one of those who said he should shake his hand. He has no obligation to shake anyone's hand he doesn't want to.

I do agree with this, however what annoys me about this whole situation is what about Ferdinand and Gerrard then? These two are currently England's captain and vice captain, yet...

Off-field - Ferdinand got banned for missing a drugs test and Gerrard beat up a DJ in a bar

I also said nothing about handshaking. I'm just sick of wayne bridge saying he doesn't want to get involved publicly yet his team where team bridge shirts, (I know he didn't but if your not looking for the publicity you would say, don't do that lads) he goes on a lads holiday in america and plays up to the camera by wearing fuck JT t-shirts and then giving up his england place. I'd say the biggest disgrace to our country is the player who refuses to play for his own selfish reasons. He couldn't keep his missus happy and he left her and now all of a sudden she needs his permission to have sex with who she wants to.
Let's put this In perspective. I'm not defending the cheating. My dad once strayed away and it destryed my mum and ill never forgive him for that. ( They are however, stronger because of it). If JT was not married then this story wouldn't even exist, what right would wayne bridge have to tell her who she can get with. What terry did wrong was only to his family, wayne bridge needs to man up a bit and stop being such a mercenary. Yeh fine, its his little boy, little being the main word there so he won't know what's goin on unless he actually saw uncle john balls deep in his mum and even then I'm not sure he will understand what's happening. She deserves her fun and her o
wn life. I'm tired of hearing abou poor wayne. Nobody is saying poor vannessa, the girl who's life is ruined so that wayne bridge, who released the story in the first place his time in the limelight.

Surely this is incorrect? Bridge was supposed to be distraught that the story got out. He'd known about it for several weeks but was supposed to be "in pieces" to find that it was plastered all over the newspapers.

So if those 3 were the only people to know about it and terry and vanessa perroncel had a super injunction imposed, I'm wondering how the story would have got out. Its all good saying he didn't want the story out but he's been acting up playing the victim since it did. Surprisingly no interviews but lots of fuck JT t-shirts, team bridge t-shirts and lots of detailed stories of the situation that can't be false as the papers would get sued for slander/libel. As for the handshake thing, I wouldn't have shook his hand either but what I also wouldn't have done is put my hand up as though I was going to shake his hand and move it away. Nobody knows what happened and we can all stay here and argue about what happened or what didn't happen but the fact of the matter is nobody knows. We all have our own opinions but I think its quite interesting how all this happened before city tried to sign terry. He signs a new deal with chelsea and then after fighting for his super injunction against the stories, they get released. A bit too coincidental for my liking.

Who is the winner in all this, the player who's career has been tarnished and who has lost his countrys respect and captaincy, the girl who has had death threats, lost her job and been called a slag etc in the paper, or poor little wayne bridge, the wounded soldier who has struggled with injury problems and got lots of well needed attention as his career started to go down the pan. What we need to remember here is that wayne bridge and vanessa we're NOT together when this went on so he has lost nothing apart from a quiet life.
