Seriously, PBTV, can you explain why the show never starts on time (and I do mean never)? Why don't you all just simply arrive at the studio in time to start at six like the EPG says? I mean just how difficult can it be to start on time??? Every other employed person manages it - and those that don't very quickly find themselves with the sack.

We understand that a show not starting on time isn't the best situation however this is live TV and as such start times can vary. The switchover from the channel to the studio is automatic at 6pm but if the show isn’t ready then the title slate is shown until it is. Sometime this is not until closer to the 6.30pm mark but sometimes (such as last Friday) it can be just 10 minutes in...

The studio and production staff are always ready to start at 6pm however Laura herself is often delayed. As this is actually Laura’s own show (PBTV just facilitate it’s broadcast) then it will not start until Laura is ready.

We are currently discussing changing the official start time to 6.30pm but then if Laura arrives earlier (which does happen) she would then just have to sit and wait until 6.30pm when, if we leave it at 6pm, we could start the show when she is ready as soon after that so Laura gets more air time to take calls.

I think we can all agree that Laura is worth waiting for!

So in other words she pretty much pleases herself when she starts? In that case I'd say yes, change the start time.
