Is Porn Prostitution?
I have decided to create this thread after touching upon this subject in another thread. I thought that I would take the opportunity to air my views on porn, prostitution and the relationship between the two and see whether other peoples views differ or not from my own.
I would like to begin by saying that I do not have a problem with either porn or prostitution (provided reasonable steps are taken to ensure the safety of all parties concerned). Both are just ways of making a living. At the end of the day it’s only sex and everyone does it so if people can make money from it then so much the better.
However, I do believe that there is a very thin line between the two, and that just because with porn, both parties are getting paid to have sex, by a third party, in my opinion, does not make one any different from the other. I realise that not everyone will agree with this, but I genuinely do not see the difference. Yes, with porn there are cameras, crew & other numerous factors involved, but if you strip all that away, it’s still two (or more) people getting paid to have sex, which is the very definition of prostitution.
Look, the people you are after are the people you depend on. We cook your meals, we haul your trash, we connect your calls, we drive your ambulances. We guard you while you sleep. Do not... fuck with us.

RE: Is Porn Prostitution?
Exchanging sex for money is technically prostitution whatever name you give it, whether male or female.
I don't think a lot of girls going into the business and being deluded by the tag of 'porn star' etc genuinely don't realise or think about it.

HUH? the title of the thread s PORN prostitution. What you talking about?
Do you think phone sex is pornography? Are you physically having sex with her?
Selling sex for money is technically prostitution, look up the word in any dictionary.
ps - pornography is not allowed on tv

RE: Is Porn Prostitution?
Dictionary definition of prostitution:
the act of engaging in sexual intercourse or performing other sex acts in exchange for money, or of offering another person for such purposes
Do you not think that if there was anyway porn could be classed as prostitution then a government, most likely our own, would have tested the idea in court (they may have and I might be unaware).

RE: Is Porn Prostitution?
Exactly, surely the phone girls are performing sex acts for money.
Pornography defined as: films, magazines, writings, photographs, or other materials that are sexually explicit and intended to cause sexual arousal: doesn't have to be hardcore, softcore can "cause sexual arousal".
By the way I think this idea has been tried out in the american courts probably around the time of ginger lynn and traci lords if i remember right from one of the porn biographies I read ages ago.

Indeed, it was tested in a US court.
A pimp who stood trial moved to dismiss the case on Equal Protection grounds. They claimed that Law enforcement selectively target "escort services" for prosecution, while ignoring distributors of adult films, who are engaged in what is essentially the same activity.
It was established that prostitution is generally understood as the bilateral trading of sex for money, while pornography involves the customer of an adult film paying money to watch other people have sex. The process of filming and distributing pornography is considered protected speech, under the Supreme Court's First Amendment precedents. The actors paid for having sex are doing so precisely because they are being filmed. The entire point of the paid for sex in pornography is that the recording is an integral, rather than a peripheral, part of the transaction.
So legally, Porn is not Prostitution.
Morally, that is down to the feelings of the people performing in the film.

If I visit a prostitute and ask her to strip off and talk filth while I have a wank is that an act of prostitution. If the answer is yes, and if you think there's no difference between porn and prostitution then it looks like porn is allowed on tv.
It's irrelevant for the purposes of this thread what I personally class as prostitution, that's not the issue. It specifically asks about porn, which usually involves some form of copulation. Blow jobs and other playing with sexual organs are also part of the sex act.
Talking dirty, on the side of the presenter, is just talking, even if your self abusing yourself at the same time. If you where in the same room in the same bed though and you where paying for her to talk dirty while you tugged and paying for it, what would you class that has?
There's always been grey areas.

So being paid to have sex without a camera is prostitution, put a camera in the room suddenly it's not?
No wonder they say 'the laws an ass'.
If it was that simple wouldn't all madams put cameras in their brotels (men you ware masks or something)
