RE: Capping - Questions, Advice Etc.
A little bit of advice (I've read some of the hints/advice in this forum but I'm a bit thick)
I would like to capture some video from the live webstream (hopefully with audio)
Could anyone advise about the software to use
I'm looking for something fairly straightforward (aka idiot proof) and perhaps free that will work with windows xp?
Thanks

What I'd like to know, and you can apply it for vids here. How do those people record an hour of say lost, then compress it to 700 mb and still have a perfect crisp picture.
What settings are the likely to be using with regard to bit rate, resolutions, sound and so one.
#always wonder how they did that.
There needs to be a tutorial has a sticky set up on here from someone who knows how for people without the knowledge.

Well people have skirted around this a bit but to be honest something like that to be of any use is way beyond the scope of this forum if it is going to be comprehensive and yet still understandable to the lay person
It's a while since I've had need to trawl for such info but the Afterdawn forums would probably be a better jumping off point than here. You'll need something firm to hold onto though as video encoding and compression is not a simple subject and you need to understand the basics before you can then make an informed choice about what codec and settings to use.
Do not expect a definitive answer to you question
Do not expect it to be simple if you want the best results
I don't even know who I am so you'll forgive me if I ask 'Who the f**k do you think you are?!'
