Two correct results & one victory method, not the best but at least i didn't bet any
£££.
James Wilks v Claude Patrick Fairly poor fight to be honest, more of a good training session for both fighters.
Cheick Kongo v Travis Browne I can see Kongo gettin cut after this fight if not then one more like this then he's definitely gone!!! OK his ground game isn't great but he has a lot of talent but is too hesitant & cautious!!!
John Hathaway v Mike Pyle I said i wouldn't but i let the heart lead on this
Pyle had the perfect game plan, he knew Hathaway's standup isn't great so he opposed his superior hand work to set up the takedown to perfection. That's the kind of fight that will give Hathaway's team the perfect base to build on as he's only 23. Top job by the experienced 35 year old.
Dan Hardy v Carlos Condit Suprised by the KO but not shocked. It was shaping up to be a war with Condit looking comfortable in the stand up against the dangerous Hardy. I think the KO came not due to power but the fact both fighters were goin for the punch at the same time which puts all the muscle tension in the feet & shoulder to focus the power into the punch, this weakening the neck & jaw, hence the KO. This was a great win for Condit & puts him in line for a title fight as Dana White has said Jon Fitch may not be the number 1 contender. Hardy has now lost 2 in a row but both were against welterweight champions, GSP UFC & Condit WEC, condit is effectively still the WEC champ as that division no longer exsits so i don't think the two defeats are that bad & i think he may face Thiago Alves next which would be a sign that he's sitll not far off another title shot???
Michael Bisping v Yoshihiro Akiyama As i expected Akiyama's fitness got the better of him late on which i think was the difference. I said this is the biggest fight of Bisping's career & yes he won but still hasn't impressed me. He stood in front of Akiyama all fight & once again was very easy to hit & never once sidestepped the fists of Akiyama, if Akiyama was i little fitter i think he would've put Bisping under constant pressure which Bisping wouldn't have liked & would've made him flap & open himself up even more. For me Mike is too one dimensional & doesn't have the range of skill needed to be a serious contender to Anderson Silva let alone be champion. The Americans only take note of him due to his talk before fights & we only take note of him as he was the first fighter from over here to make any headway at world level. The fact is he's no better than someone like Mike Pyle or Jon Fitch & those fighter make a name for themselves as a tough opponent but aren't considered champion quality???
Post 1,000 woohoo!!!
