RIP Pete Postlethwaite

Actor Pete Postlethwaite , famous for his roles in In The Name Of The Father and The Usual Suspects, aswell as numerous tv and stage dramas, has died at the age of 64. Link to the BBC News website below..

A huge loss. I thought something was wrong when I saw The Town because he didn't look well at all in that. Very thin.

What a shock, he was just conquering Hollywood with some notable performances.

Played the evil Haweswill in many episodes of Sharpe, and was also in Brassed Off.

A very fine character actor. I don't love that term, but it does what it says, and Pete was versatile enough to take on pretty much any role.
64 seems a little bit soon when he had such talent, doesn't it?

Missing key events. Talking bollocks. Making stuff up.

One of his finest performances for me was when I saw him in Brassed Off, and also in a tv drama called The Sins.

That scene from Brassed Off when his character does the speech after his orchestra performs was brilliant.

RIP Pete.

What a shame, great actor, very sad.

Also legendary control not to get a boner in the lengthy nude scene with Rachel Griffiths in among giants. Professionalism up and above the call of duty.

A real shame, he was a very fine actor.

Great actor loved his films and drama's. Perhaps we shall see some channels celebrating his life by re-running some of them. R.I.P. Pete the dramatic industry has lost a fine actor.
