Sky Sports News made me laugh/mad again today, they still refuse to even report on MMA even after dipping one of their little piggies in there with TUF yet i sat & watched Georgie Thompson chuckle her little face off while showing a UK Ice Hockey game.. Well i say game infact it was just the fight between 2 of the players. If it was football they'd be called a disgrace to their club & sport yet 2 ice hockey players are seen as funny & the professional SPORT of MMA is still a no go.... TW*TS!!!

RE: UFC
So i watched the Edson Barboza / Mike Lullo fight....I thought highly of Edson before his UFC days but he owned Lullo with his kicks. He's fighting again on UFC 128 against Ex WEC Fighter Anthony Njokuani.

And im going on record by calling Evans beating Shogun at 128. Im also looking forward to Cro Cop / Schaub. I fear for Cro Cop in that bout...

Ive also watched Duffee / Overeem.....i knew Duffee wouldnt last long but fucking hell, he got raped with that Knee & Hook combo.

RE: UFC
Sky would mess UFC coverage up in ways I'm too scared to even think about, lol. Plus I've always thought they'd try and get it on a PPV basis.

Don't think we need worry though, my mates a big wrestling fan and he's told me that the WWE have got some retarded tight contract making it hard for Sky to show any other kind of "combat entertainment" shows or whatever would fall under that umbrella....ella....ella....ella.

RE: UFC
Good to know BaddaBing Sky can keep their Wrestling, I'm quite happy paying £9 a month for the UFC on ESPN although they do piss me off with the adds during the show when they come back & it's clear the US coverage hasn't been on an ad break but i guess they need to pay for it some how.

Cheers for the heads up Cainan i didn't know Alistair Overeem & Todd Duffee had fought, what they're doing in the same octagon... ring i dont quite understand. The punch wasn't even a full shot.

RE: UFC
Barboza looks the biz Cainan. He's stacked up a good tko record so far and although i dont know anything about his opponent at 128 i'd say it'll take a good man to beat him.

He could be on Frankie Edgar's radar pretty soon?

Nice one on the Duffee fight mate.Like Mitchell i hadn't seen it.Said a while back on here that i didn't think Duffee was cut out for the fight game.He can't take a punch for starters and looks like a bit of a Zombie.

Was it you who fancied him to be a half decent success in the UFC Cainan? Can't remember who said they quite fancied the lad to do the business?

Good old WWE BaddaBing! They're doin us all a favour! Wink

RE: UFC
Brock and dos santos coaching TUF, didn't see that one coming. although makes sense, cain can't fight for quite a few months and this way they can build a high profile number one contender fight leading into an even bigger title fight for the winner.
Maybe bring some attention onto the ufc heavyweights in opposition to strikeforce's up and coming tournament which should have a few good fights in it.

AWESOME NEWS!!!! SmileyCentral.com

Thanks for the heads up 199!!! SmileyCentral.com Can't wait for it Smile

Found this online Smile

The suspense is over. On multiple fronts.

The 13th season of the reality series 'The Ultimate Fighter' finally has its coaches, as UFC president Dana White announced Tuesday that heavyweights Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos have agreed to fill the roles.

The news also effectively killed any speculation on Lesnar's future in the UFC. Following a first-round TKO loss to current champion Cain Velasquez last October, there had been reports that Lesnar wanted out of his contract.

Not so, said White.

"I liked all the rumors that were going around that Brock didn't want to do this anymore," said White, on a national media conference call. "None of that was true. I was in communication with Brock the whole time."

According to White, an injury to Velasquez had an impact on the promotion's decision to match up the two heavyweights. Velasquez is expected to be out of action for six-to-eight months due to a torn rotator cuff he suffered in the win over Lesnar.

With Dos Santos (12-1) waiting in the wings for a title shot of his own, the UFC decided to let he and Lesnar (5-2) battle it out for the position of No. 1 contender. Although no official date is in place, White said the two will definitely meet in June.

"There is no interim title," White said. "These two will coach, then fight. The winner of that fight will fight Cain Velasquez when he's healthy."

Dos Santos is undefeated since joining the UFC in 2008. He's recorded six straight victories in that span, including four first-round finishes.

For Lesnar, the loss to Velasquez was his first since dropping a first-round submission to Frank Mir at UFC 81 in Feb. 2008. His agreement to appear on the show is surprising, as the former pro-wrestling figure is known for dodging media and cameras whenever possible.

White acknowledged as much Tuesday.

"Yeah, it was," answered White, when asked if it had been difficult to sign Lesnar on to the show. "It's going to be a tough season. I deal with Brock in very short spurts. The guy only fights two-to-three times a year and it's always tough. It's going to be a very interesting six weeks of filming."

Taping of the show is set to begin later this month. It debuts March 30 on Spike TV.

The season will feature welterweight fighters and follow the same format as recent seasons. A field of 28 fighters is reduced to 14 official cast members by elimination fights usually aired on the first episode.

It will be the first time since the show focused on the 170-pound division since its ninth season, which saw coaches Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping coach opposite one another in a U.S. vs. U.K. contest.

RE: UFC
Found this on Shane Carwin's Blog. Smile

Carwin Wrote:

"I saw where MMAJunkie wrote that I will be on the June 11th card in Vancouver. As you can imagine my management team has been in close contact with the UFC during my recovery. A couple of weeks ago they requested that I fight in late may or early June. I have subsequently "tweeted" that those are my target return dates. I want to fight as much as possible this year."

"So last week we got the call from Joe Silva asking if we would consider fighting Nelson at UFC 130. We accepted the match up and UFC Matchmaker Joe Silva said that it was 90% a go. The next day we were informed that they went a different direction for Nelson and that they want me to fight someone at UFC 131 in Vancouver. I have once again rapidly accepted the date. "

"As of this blog no opponent has been mentioned. Other than the MMAjunkie story I have not heard anymore about my June 11th return. I am pumped to be about to fight in Canada. The international fans are so pumped for the shows and if you have never been to B.C. I am certain BC stands for Beautiful Country."

I am training hard and working on fixing the issues I ran into during the Lesnar fight. I will be ready and I hope that I am indeed fighting in June in B.C..

For now I am just a fighter training and waiting. I will keep you all posted as soon as I hear something that I can announce.

RE: UFC
Hey GNP

I did fancy Duffee quite a while ago but hes all power & no chin, which in a way, is terribly sad.

Im calling JDS all the way unless Brock takes him to floor. Unless he powers out of the takedowns, JDS could be on the floor all night. His boxing should wreck Lesnar though.
