RE: Liverpool FC
Yes, I appreciate that Dalglish's post-Hillsborough experiences took their toll on him; he proved himself five years later when, backed by Jack Walker's money, he won the Premiership with Blackburn Rovers. I think that after that he lost some of his taste for management, and his results at management level declined somewhat after that.
You'll surely appreciate, however, Groundnpound, that he not only inherited a very good Liverpool side in 1985/86, but that he got more than a little help from Bob Paisley whilst he dealt with the transition into player/management. Furthermore, Liverpool at the time was just a case of making the odd adjustment here and there to a squad of players who were winning trophies every year.
Today, he not only faces the prospect of a full clear-out of the deadwood and non-tryers at a huge cost if LFC are to become truly competitive once again, but times have changed beyond recognition since he was last in the Anfield hotseat. Then it was managers who ruled the roost, whereas nowadays the power is with the players, as Messrs McManaman, Alonso and Mascherano will testify to name but three.
I do know what respect is, I respect your views although I may not necessarily share them. I didn't paste my comments off any website; my views are always my own and I always say it as I see it, whether it's about some of the babes on the babe channels or about anything else.
Instead of just listening to your fellow Liverpool fans, you really should listen to the views of the non-Liverpool fraterniny on here because they are the ones who see things objectively from an outsider's perspective and are thus more inclined to see the things that rose-tinted glasses obscure.
If you truly believe that Kenny Dalglish is the answer then fair play to you, I respect your view, but honestly, football - like all things in life - is a game of opinions, and the opinions of others do count as well and should thus be respected.
