Leah Francis - Chat & Discussion

This is an absolutely terrible decision by Elite to let Leah go. She's been treated very badly as she did well on her shows, but has been unceremoniously dumped to make room for (IMO) inferior signings. Elite will definitely be a poorer channel without Leah, and I hope she gets another channel soon.

Shame to see Leah go. She seemed to fit the Elite mould nicely. She seemed reasonably busy for a new girl, given that it takes quite a while to build up a regular bank of callers.

If her tweet was related to Elite then it would seem to be a case of her been let go rather than leaving.

Hope she gets back on our screens soon, wherever that may be.

Very bad news indeed. Leah was for me one of the top girls on any of the channels. Very strange decision

Very well said Eagle. It's a bit like kicking Eric Morecambe off the bill to make room for Cannon and Ball.

A girl with the edge, big personality and potential of Leah being put to the sword to make room for a couple of girls that became available in the Bang 'fire sale' is certainly more a case of short term perspective opportunism than the long view canny judgement that Elite usually displays.

I am not gonna go down the she was pushed out to make room for route. As a) I think the roster could support the number of girls even if Leah was onboard
b) Leah was there for 6 weeks before bang went bust and there was no sign of a pic of her appearing on the elite main page. Had she been a cert roster member her pic would have gone pretty much straight onto the site.

I think that maybe the transfer windows sped up the decision, but was not in itself wholly the reason for it.

same here bcl i dont think leah has been "uncerimoniously dumped" to make way for emma spellar and gemma hiles as i too think they could have kept them all I also really disagree that leah has been badly treated by elite because they dont treat girls badly.

the bottom line is that elite is a business and I think why leah has been let go is mainly down to call stats. Yes its seemed to us watching that leah was doing well on the phones and good shows in general, but if leah's call stats were poor then she has to go regardless of if she is a top glamour model

Also leah is still very much active as a glamour model doing shoots etc and also works at the various car shows, indeed this weekend leah is working at the autosport carshow in birmingham and therefore wouldnt have been able to do many shows.

i do think the demise of bangbabes was a factor in leah's departure, but only a small one. If leah was going to be a permanent member at elite she would have been added to the current girls page on the elite website and done shoots for elite. so leah was probably always going to leave elite, but not for a little bit longer if bang didnt go bust.

hopefully leah will come back

I'm with you on this and I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that about Emma and Gemma.

I thought Leah was doing good considering she come in at a time when the dress code had been changed possible making it harder to gain a call base. You could see it coming though, that somebody was going to have make way for the new (wrong) signings.

The thing about Leah still being a glamour model is irrelevant. The vast majority of Elite's daytime girls are glamour models too, and they still have regular shifts. Becky does loads of other stuff, and she still finds time to be on three times a week. And as for her pic not being put up, we all know how slow Elite are to update that.

It can surely only come down to her call stats not being good...

Yes she is stunning but if she wasnt making Elite the money then
you cant be surprised that they let her go...She is not the first stunning
girl to have been let go by Elite and she wont be the last.

IMO Gemma and Emma are inferior signings but you cant dispute that
they will both bring the calls in and have huge fan bases built up over
several years on the shows..They will bring in the money for Elite.

I hope Leah does find employment elsewhere, maybe she can thrive on
another channel and prove Jamie wrong??

spot on aston and that's my main point too, if leah's call stats were poor and she wasnt making elite money then off she goes and as you say she wont be the first stunning/high profile babe elite let go and wont be the last.

disagree emma and gemma are inferior signings. i think they are good signings for elite for the reasons you say they have big fanbases from their years on the shows and modelling

im hopeful leah will be back
