Not automatically. The team in 6th place only gets a place in the Europa cup if the winners and runner up in the FA Cup, or the winner of the Carling Cup, have already qualified for European competition by finishing in 1st - 5th place in the premiership.

This means that the 7th placed premiership team can also qualify for Europe if the FA cup winner and runner up, and Carling Cup winner, have finished in the top five in the premiership.

Oh fuck, looks like the Wolves will just miss out this season then..

i think skate made it sound easier to understand lol. if arsenal win the carling cup and u finish 6th you will be in europe cos arsenal will finish in the top 4 u have to think. if birmingham win it then its different. but its all ifs and buts so lets just wait and see wot happens. anyway yoda thnx for trying to sort it out m8 the malicious 1 appreciates it!

all i know 5th automatic 6 and 7 dependant on cup winners, fair play league is a different keetle of fish

5th is a given for UEFA Cup. I wasn't sure about 6th and 7th getting into the UEFA cup either? But what about when Middlesborough got into the UEFA cup after winning the FA Cup i think?

middlesborough finished 7th in the league the season before but arsenal won the fa cup and chelsea won the carling cup, but they qualified for the champions league, so bolton who finished 6th and middlesborough who finished 7th both got a place in the uefa cup along with liverpool automatically for finishing 5th. middlesborough got to the final of the uefa cup but lost to i think it was sevilla but cant be to sure without lookin it up. i think middlesborough won the carling cup the season before so they also got in that the uefa cup as well for that season.
