if he kept the tackling to a minimum then he would be in best midfield in the world any brazilian world cup mids from 50's and 60's with messi, zidane (a hothead), iniesta/xavi. i am not saying scholes is rubbish, his passing and schooting are second to none. gerrard is a very good player when he wants to be.
barca at the moment have the most gifted and consistant team in europe and the world. spain would not have won the world without the barca players.
every team relfect the manager's personality.
finally a post i can thank buy the bigguy01 tackling is part of the game and he cant just let player breeze past him with put in any effort in attempting to tackle the guy, it's not deliberate obviously, he's not that good at it simple as that but he makes up for it with the other parts of his game his passing is definetly second to none his shooting as dipped of late but when he was few years younger is shooting was different class
well after everything i said about my world class 11, with half of barca's team in it, whats the odds now of the arsenal beating them tomorrow. at least if fabregas plays well dont forget he was in my 11. come on the arsenal!
everyone goes on about world class or worst 11 what about a world's most underrated player 11, my to defos are dennis irwin and solskjaer. i would rather these 2 in my team than their current counterparts in the man utd side.
hitmeuptop, i do appreciate good football and talent when its applied properly. i do not like the nastiness that goes like some shite that comes out of some supporters mouths (blackpool v villa, some people were chanting to miss massey "theres only one andy gray"), the way some players behave on and off the pitch (diouf, barton, g neville, adebayor, c ronaldo etc) but yes rooney's goal was good but for me cantona's goal against sunderland was better because at the time cantona was in form unlike rooney.
i think scholes would struggle to get into barcas team, most players would.
the ac milan players especially gattuso blew their top, spurs good win in milan. arsenal v barca should be the best 2 games of the season.

Barcelona are the greatest club football team in the world by a country mile. They play football the way it was intended to be played when the game was born. I fear for Arsenal in this tie for the simple reason they will try play football the way Barca do. They dont know how to play any different. They do not have any big physical players to bully the Barca lads off the ball and upset them, like Chelsea or to a lesser extent Man Utd could. Thats how Inter beat them last year, Chelsea nearly beat them in 09 only going out to a last minute goal and some dodgey decisions. Man Utd did in fairness out fight them in the 08 semi, and Liverpool bullied them out of the competition in 07. Arsenal are a fantastic football team and play the prettiest football in England. But if they try to do that in this tie then i think they will be packing their bags.
Judge me by my size do you? Hmmm? Hmmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the force. And a powerful ally it is.

I could also produce a long list of xxx-rated Gerrard two-footers, especially from his younger days and still cannot believe that he stayed on the field on most of those occasions.

So lets not play in the playground with I know players who've done xxx-rated two-footers aswell.... Yes we've all got a brother who's harder than your's & a dad who's bigger than your's but we are also all adults here... Well except that little squirty Manc hitmeuptop

Discipline
Over his career, Scholes has received 86 yellow and 4 red cards in the Premier League, making him the fourth most booked player in Premier League history He also been booked 26 times in the Champions League, more than any other player in the competition. Scholes' tackling has drawn criticism from figures in the game such as Arsene Wenger who stated "for me he was not a fair player. There’s a little bit of a darker side in him, sometimes, that I did not like. I respect him highly as a quality player but I did not like some things he did on the football pitch".
so did arsene wenger SEE scholes tackling then lol. he never saw viera or petit did he? no comment i didnt see it, ok. thats not aimed at you ares, still want you to win tomorrow.
